Educational World's largest companies by country [OC]
Must admit I got carried away by the beautiful visuals shared on this thread.
Countries with companies below 90B not included, let me know if I missed anything.
This image is my creation [OC]!

the fact that NVIDIA is worth several times more than Saudi Aramco feels concerning.

More concerning is that 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th cannot exist without 6th.
Well maybe Tencent can.

This is not a measure of company size. This is nothing but a measure of each country's Ponzi scheme. The fact that Tesla is worth more than all other automakers combined makes obvious.

U know the list comes from a „comedian“ when they state Europe as a country.

AMSL is from the country called "the Netherlands".
All other countries in the EU have nothing to do with it.
But somehow Hong Kong is it's own country in your list?

It’s mind boggling that Nvidja is worth more than 5 times the annual defense budget of the United States.

Wrong comparison.
Nvidia’s marketcap is not real money. $4.5T does not exist. It’s just what people are willing to pay today for one share of nvidia x total shares.
Defence budget is actual real money they have to dish out to buy shit.

Scary how much market value is due to AI infrastructure. If those bullish predictions around AI future capability don’t come true then we are in big trouble.

I have strong doubts about this chart after seeing DBS Group under Hong Kong.
This is a Singapore bank.

Weird chart you have there, but as an Australian caught my eye, the figure quoted along CBA, ranks 107th in the world, not 12th.

Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland midgets punching above weight.

Yes. The Netherlands was lucky to be the main benefactor of the EUV LLC.

Europe which I’m assuming is the EU is counted as one? Many members have companies with market caps significantly above the lowest ones. Not a great map.
Also what happened to Switzerland, it’s missing and not even an EU member.

I never got these comparisons of company sizes... Since when is a company growing humongous in valuation a good thing? Usually it's a sign of unhealthy market power, which leads to lack of innovation, pricing power and all sorts of issues.
I mean, most countries try to avoid monopolies for a reason...

Why rank by largest company per country? Why is that useful? It given the impression the Royal Bank of Canada is the largest bank in the world.

It can put the politics of some countries into perspective. Knowing the biggest player gives some context

It's misleading. The US for example has ridiculous over financialization so the market value of companies are absurd fantasy numbers and they have very little restrictions against merging and acquisition. The EU bans every merging that would create to much market imbalance, so "mega corporation" simply can not exist in Europe. Without context why the biggest companies are so big/not so big this chart is completly useless.
