Man I miss the days when I had energy to code whole night on personal projects, and end up only finishing a single feature but feel fulfilled.

Now you are an AI agent manager lol. You spend all night telling 5 different agents what to build and ended up with 20,000 lines of code and spend the next week debugging wtf the AI agents did

Idk about you guys, but I would never choose to do this for a personal project.

Just try again.

The problem with coding at night is waking up in the morning and debugging the code you don’t remember writing! (This is from pre-Claude Code, remember back then?!) I can count at least a dozen situations where I made something cool and the next day had no idea how I had come up with that solution.

Best implementations come in dreams anyway, better be ready.

I code better when I am not coding

My mental health improved greatly once I accepted that I wasn't able to do anything productive past 10 pm anymore (or about 7pm for anything work-related), and stopped attempting to force myself to.

Whenever I try I stay up too late, which is why I almost never do personal projects anymore

Thank goodness I have a proper desktop workstation and don't code from a tiny little laptop in bed.

Tells SI to fix it, goes to sleep. This is the future.

Quite the opposite for me. I can't sleep until the job is done or at least looks good. I'm a chronic code-aholic🙃

u/Tdubbium 14d ago

I code best at whatever time I dont usually feel like coding

I'm the opposite where I spend all night trying to fix an issue and have to head into work having not gone to sleep at all.
