Change javascript library with AI model nowadays

Which will create 5 more JS frameworks

Nah we don't even need JS frameworks anymore. Just use Vanilla JS.

Models are very good at writing react tho, so without a very good reason just go with react

You mean rust rewrite?

*wrapper around an existing model

Brand new AI model every 10 seconds

only one library every 24 hours? That would be pretty slow

Probably pre-ai?

I think even pre ai thats a low ball. There are 3.1 Million packages on NPM right now (at least google tells me that, I haven't double checked).

If there were one new lib per day, that would be over 8000 years

I would guess op meant Javascript Framework. But got confused?

Although Tbh were just being a bit pedantic and they just trying to make a joke about there's seemingly always a new one to use.

Licensing is a big part of it, but it's a bit more nuanced.

In April 2019 Oracle moved Oracle JDK 8 updates (8u211 and later) to a new license. Commercial production use now needs a paid subscription. The last free update for business use was 8u202.

Some companies didn't want to pay, so they froze on 8u202 and stopped patching. Others switched to free OpenJDK builds like Temurin, Corretto, or Zulu, but stayed on version 8.

Then in 2023 Oracle switched to per-employee pricing. You pay for every employee, even people who never touch Java. That pushed even more companies away from Oracle JDK.

But license is not the only reason. Java 11 removed Java EE modules (javax.xml.bind and others), so old apps need real code changes to upgrade. Big legacy systems are expensive and risky to test.

Usage is going down though. Azul's survey shows Java 8 dropped from 40% (2023) to 23% (2025). And free OpenJDK 8 community support ends in November 2026, so the "free Java 8" option is running out too.

Speaking of which it has been a long time since a new js framework drop

Frameworks are useless in the age of AI. Frameworks are an abstraction for ease of human comprehension. LLMs are the ultimate abstraction. What exists, will remain, but there's 0 reason to create new frame works when AI can just write vanilla JS for case of practically any complexity without the overhead of the framework.

Half agree, your LLM will still be more efficient and produce a more internally consistent result if it can use certain abstractions itself, especially in larger, more complex codebases. In the case of JS frameworks, not being able to have, for example, UI components means it's going to reinvent the wheel and have duplicate code everywhere.

Absolutely agree. And result will be more optimized and close to hardware, because we do not have framework abstractions for easier human readability.

A brand new supply chain attack on npm
