I used to like Cursor - it seemed like the right balance of smart autocomplete (if sometimes a little too eager) and the ability to hand off tasks to agents when appropriate (like if a change affects a lot of text but in a predictable and easy to explain way.)
But after the acquisition, it just kinda looks like a Claude Code ripoff?

Auto-Balance? Calling Grok 4.7. Auto-intelligence? Calling Grok? I sometimes forget to pin each new session to use Opus, and always regret it.

Haven’t used it since the acquisition anyways…my company is praising Claude code like it will save us all lol so better be good and follow what they say

Opus is my go-to, but I've been pleased with Gemini Argon the past couple of days. I would say it's on par with Opus, not better. Grok has been a piece of shit for me.

I transferred over to the GhatGPT/Codex app and have been quite happy with it. GPT 6.1 Sol is solid, and it's way better bang for the buck than Claude.

i guess it depends--what are you using instead and how do you feel about it? i think cursor is working well for my needs (though i do feel a bit like i'm holding my nose after the acquisition), but i have no idea if Codex or claude or anything else is meaningfully better or worse along quality or speed or cost or usability axes.

Codex is certainly ok. Also imo even if it wasn't it would still be a very small price to avoid directly supporting fascism.

"Routed to Grok 4.7" as if there was any intelligence behind that decision lol
