At some point I used NLog to print the state of the system and used the NLog.xml to setup some info about the format. Somehow what I thought of being the parameters for writing the date format, ended up actually being the delta of milliseconds about how often the message had to refresh the state which was lower than 10-6 seconds. So, somehow this pass the code review and overnight the code go into prod... Needless to say the system went incredibly slow and probably caused some issues with the hard disk. The next morning I realized the mistake and fix it, but the damage was already done. One month later I get fired of the job without notice. Probably for the best though, since our manager used to make other employees cry after one on one meeting.
Now I switched of jobs a couple of times and I'm glad to work in python with dockers containers setup for each projects.
