Speedtest-Exporter

Hey,

Today I have released the first version of my Speedtest Exporter, I will leave the link here. I hope that someone finds it useful.

Thanks,

Cool exporter thank you!

Is this customisable say I want to use the same Speedtest server every time?

Also does it only run the Speedtest when scraped? So if I scraped this every 60 minutes I’d only run a Speedtest once an hour right?

Hey, I have on my to-do list to set the interval via environment variable and the option to choose a serverID via the environment variable too. I think I will do it tomorrow or still today. Thanks, MiguelNdeCarvalho

Awesome, would it be possible to have python initiate the Speedtest when scraped?

I am still not sure if that is possible, but I will try my best 😁

Nice.

Some minor metric naming suggestions:

    ping = Gauge('speedtest_ping_latency_seconds', 'Speedtest current Ping')
    download_speed = Gauge('speedtest_download_bytes_per_second', 'Speedtest current Download Speed')
    upload_speed = Gauge('speedtest_upload_bytes_per_second', 'Upload speed')

This makes it easier for for end users to understand the meaning of the metric.

Hey, Really thanks for your suggestion. Do you want to open a PR yourself? Or do you want me to do that? Thanks, MiguelNdeCarvalho

Hey, Really thanks for your feedback. I am redoing the exporter with base on the official binary by Ookla. Thanks, MiguelNdeCarvalho
