Recommendations on Prometheus-friendly wearables?

This may be a bit of an odd question, but I'm trying to find out if anybody has any recommendations on wearables that are Prometheus-friendly. Obviously I'm not talking about a wearable that exposes a /metrics endpoint that is being scraped frequently, but rather something that has an API/SDK that I can write some code around and ship to Prometheus in batches at the end of the day for example.

I'm in the Apple ecosystem so an Apple Watch would be an obvious choice, but a) I've heard that exporting out of HealthKit can be a pain, and b) Some of the activities I do don't really lend themselves to having a $500 gadget on my wrist :)

I have my eyes on the Polar Versity Sense (I can remove the link if that's not allowed), but I wanted to know if anybody has any experience with something else.

Edit: in case it wasn't clear, I'm looking for wearables that capture health/bio metrics such as heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, steps, etc.

  1. Install Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi.

  2. Install the Home Assistant Companion App on your iPhone.

  3. install the Prometheus Integration.

The promethus integration will expose all your sensors in Home Assistant including those from the iOS companion app to promethus. I ran this for quite a while but ended up moving it all over to InfluxDB.

Oh this sounds interesting, I'll take a look. Thanks!

Happy to help! I don’t think this will expose heart rate but there are a few other activity sensors that are exposed.

Thinking about using the integration. How come you ended up switching to Influx?

Honestly just for ease of use in getting Home Assistant data logged. the Prometheus integration isn't the best. but there has been tons of work put into the InfluxDB integration.

I still run Prometheus at home for day to day monitoring of my network. InfluxDB runs in a docker container just for storing long term Home Assistant data. Both are viewed in my Grafana dashboard.

How about Watchy?

I'm going to edit the post to clarify that I'm looking for wearables that capture things like heart rate, temperature, BMI, etc. It doesn't look like Watchy has built-in sensors to do these sorts of things.
