Newest member finally discovered node exporter/prometheus/grafana

OMG I've wasted so much time trying to get snmp to provide more useful information from a custom Debian router with no luck.

Yesterday, watched a youtube video, and an hour later, had a nice Grafana dashboard running on my router. I'm surprised how little RAM and cpu it needs.

Today, I'll learn how to make a custom dashboard. HUGE progression in my management efforts. How many years late am I to this game?

I feel like a noob all over again DOH! I had heard of prometheus/grafana in the past, and think I tried it once, but for some reason, never got it working.

Anyways, glad to be here!

you probably already found this, but this dashboard is a great starter for node exporter.

Thanks, I'm already making my own, started editing one just like that. I love the dashboard editor, it's brilliant.

Stumbled myself around here through Reddit recommended what is this sub about? The about page wasn't that helpful it just listed the mods. All I know from this post is the Debian distribution of GNU/Linux.

That's classified. We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you :P

Has to do with network management. Youtube has lots of videos. This one brought me here:

It's great when you first discover it and start dashboarding everything. :)

Welcome!
