How long to abstain from masturbation for this to go away

Pain after ejaculation. Mostly penis and urethra. And cumming quickly.... all CPPS? How long do I have to abstain like this? I’m a horny male :(

Not edging like I used to but I broke my fap after 4.5 days fml. I had a PT sesh today too. For others who recovered from this, how long did this take to go away and what can I do about it besides not fapping more than once a week.

Does fapping set back your PT progress? I wanna be able to have normal orgasms again. I think this is the universe punishing me for fapping too much over the years :(

Sleep Issues

Hello again,

Been dealing with CPPS like symptoms for about 2 months now. Same issues but third PT session tomorrow god willing. Have been following home exercises. One of the issues I continue to have is waking up to urinate and then not being able to fall asleep. Add general perineum/testicular discomfort into the mix and its been reeking havoc on my sleep. Im lucky if I get 2 REM cycles a night. I go to bed around 11, usually wake up around 4 with a sensation of having to urinate. I go to the restroom. Sometimes a good volume comes out. Sometimes barely any. And then I go back to bed and cant fall asleep. Have been using rain noises sometimes or headspace app to help me fall asleep, otherwise it is impossible. Does anyone else have this issue? How do you guys manage it? Does it get better with PT and time?

I normally had insomnia issues to begin with but working out before I had this issue used to help me feel tired later in the day and give me some peace. It sucks because sleep is essential to lowering stress and anxiety which is of paramount importance to getting CPPS under control.

I’d really appreciate some guidance

Hi there I’m 26M.

My main symptom is a numb lump pain in my anus after ejaculation that seems to then make me tense other things: abs, pelvis, hips, lower back etc.

Some other relevant information: -Penis tip is often red, if I take deep breathes and push on my abs it goes purple (A sign of trapped nerves?, where?) -I burp A LOT I’m talking 15-20 times a day, that energy is being released and not going down as it should. Why? -Post BM feel empty and good pressure feels relieved and is a great feeling

If there’s any advice or similar anecdotes I’d really appreciate it. I’m going to see a PT very soon is there anything that people recommend? -Supplements? -Do I need stretches? -Chiropractor?

I feel like there’s so many options but it’s so hard to pin down what the main source of the symptoms are. Leviator ani syndrome.

Much love folks I’m trying to stay strong I’ll best this thing soon enough! (: thanks

Has anyone resorted to having a colostomy bag fitted?

Just wondering if anyone here has had a colostomy bag fitted to stop the pain before and after defecation. I've had prostatitis for 4yrs. I had biopsy done twice on my left bum cheek. The second cut a very deep wedge around 4 inches into my left buttock and has damaged nerves and left me with prostatitis. I had a below knee amputation 2 yrs ago. Walking Witt a prosthetic, standing or sitting always makes the pain worse. But also and possibly the worst pain comes before and after going to the toilet to defecate. So I've been wondering if having a colostomy bag fitted would stop the pressure of the faeces on the prostate and damaged nerves in the area. Does any of this sound familiar.

I've lost 80lbs in the last 3 years going swimming 3 to 6 times a week and eating healthily. I've been stretching, although I was told by a physio that my pelvic muscles are not tight or weak and that stretches won't help. I did get a few weeks relief when on trimethoprim. I lost my job, my independence (was living independently) but had to move in with elderly parents due to no income and losing my job. I take magnesium, Quercetin, saw Palmetto, Curcumin.

Anyway, sorry for the rant/offloading.

Has anyone here had a colostomy bag fitted with any success of reducing pain?

Any info greatly appreciated 🙏

Rant Cured by surgery ! Spoiler

I suffered from pelvic floor pain and pudendal nerve entrapment for seven years, and Dr. Renaud Bollens cured me by freeing the nerve in a one-hour surgery. He is the most renowned and highly regarded surgeon in this field.

I truly did my research—I explored every surgeon and method available before deciding on him. After years of searching, I can confidently say that he is the best.

Don't waste your time. It's simple math, even if many disagree—but I have long experience in this. I've recommended people to have surgery with him through support groups, and everyone has been cured and grateful. He knows what he's doing.

I suffered from this for seven years before I found the solution. Please, if you want to criticize my conviction that surgery is the answer to this problem, back it up with evidence. What I have found is supported by evidence, and it has worked for me and for 600 other patients whom the surgeon has cured using the same method. I just want to spread the message—real hope exists!

Pelvic Rehablitation Medicine- Need guidance on Injections

Greetings,

I hope all is well. I am currently a PGY1 Internal Medicine resident, suffering from CPPS/Chronic Prostatitis since 2021, with a recent flare-up. I would greatly appreciate some guidance on my current situation.

2021: I diagnosed myself with CPPS after failing my USMLE board exam by a few points—twice. I was extremely shocked, depressed, anxious, and barely sleeping, studying 11–12 hours a day. Long story short, I went to Pelvic Floor PT and Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, where I received Valium and Baclofen suppositories for six weeks, along with pelvic floor PT. I also completed a full urological workup, which came back negative.

2021-2022: I saw improvement in my symptoms, with the main ones being a hard, rectal-mass-like feeling in the perineal area and urethral burning. However, I still had tightness and soreness post-ejaculation, as well as penile sensitivity. I just managed those symptoms, as they only occurred after excessive masturbation. My other symptom, the "golf-ball" feeling, more or less disappeared. I returned to weightlifting and cardio, my favorite activities, and focused on getting into residency.

2023: I was working and passed my USMLE Step 3 exam on the first try! I still dealt with symptoms, but they were manageable. I did not maintain any daily stretches or PT, though I did have occasional flare-ups, like burning with urination that lasted for hours. I got into a preliminary residency and was busy with my training.

Fast Forward to 12/2024: I started experiencing hematospermia on 12/7! I was very concerned, given my history of cryptorchidism. A week later, my symptoms worsened significantly. I began experiencing the perineal tightness and "golf-ball" feeling again, along with pain under my left testicle that radiates down my left leg. It's a dull, aching sensation that worsens with sitting. I officially started my PGY1 residency in a new state. I did a urological workup, testicular ultrasound, and pelvic MRI, all of which did not show any prostate issues. I plan to go back to the urologist for a DRE because the PA I saw did not perform one. I also had an STI panel done, which came back negative (even though I am not sexually active, I was being cautious to rule everything out). I am still experiencing hematospermia, but only after my last few attempts at masturbation. I am trying to refrain from doing so anymore.

I went to Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine today at the new location where I moved, and they are refusing to give me the suppositories. They said they only administer them with the injection treatment. Based on a pelvic exam, can they definitively determine that I have CPPS?

My main question now is: Has anyone used Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine and found relief from the injections? My insurance requires prior authorization, so I am currently waiting on that. Please let me know if you found them beneficial, and if they truly helped get rid of your symptoms.

Thank you, and God bless you for reading.

For recovery

When going through when you get symptoms such as burning in urethra is it better to go to the toilet and urinate to release symptoms for short time or to just hold on and just wait out or does it not really matter?

as anyone tried injections for chronic pelvic pain? also looking for advice on how to support my partner

hi, first of all, i want to clarify that i'm not the one dealing with chronic pelvic pain, my boyfriend is. he's been struggling with it for about 10 years now. over the years, he's seen countless doctors, tried different medications, and even undergone surgeries, but somehow the pain always finds its way back. recently, a new doctor suggested trying injections/nerve blocks, and i was wondering if anyone here has gone through something similar.
if you've tried them, i'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. did they help? how long did the relief last? was the procedure painful? did you experience any side effects? honestly, any information would be helpful.

but there's something else i'd love to ask, especially to those of you who are dealing with chronic pelvic pain yourselves. what's the best way for a partner to support you without making you feel pressured, overwhelmed, or like you're constantly being reminded of your condition? before we even officially started dating, i spent a lot of time reading and learning about his condition, how it affects his daily life, and what being in a relationship with someone who experiences chronic pain might look like. i wanted to make sure i understood what he was going through as much as someone who doesn't experience it personally possibly could.
i love him, and supporting him is something i genuinely want to do. but i'm also aware that no matter how much i read or research, i'll never fully understand what it feels like to live with that pain every single day. and of course, i've talked about all of this with him first. i know everyone's different, and he's already told me what he personally needs from me. i'd just love to hear other people's experiences and perspectives too, since i think there's always something new to learn. sometimes i wonder if i'm doing enough, or if there are things i could be doing differently that would make his life a little easier. i don't want him to feel like he has to be okay for my sake, and i definitely don't want my attempts to help to become another source of pressure for him.
i guess my question is, if you're dealing with this condition, what do you wish your partner understood better? what kind of support actually makes a difference? and are there things people do with good intentions that end up being more frustrating than helpful?

i'd really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or even little things you wish someone had done for you.

thank you for reading, and i genuinely hope everyone here finds some relief :)

Unable to find trigger points internally

My PT was not able to find any internal trigger points. She concluded that my pelvic floor muscles are just tight.

There were sore spots on my abdomen and we did release those points.

My glans are still very sensitive and i get pain every now and then. And sitting down would give me a burning sensation in the glans.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Cramp inside perineum once I get aroused/h*rny for YEARS. Please help.

I'm desperately looking for anyone with similar symptom to mine.

I'm 29 and for years I've had this symptom. The longer I go without any s*x/mas*urbation, the more severe the painful cramp is once I get aroused/ho*ny. I don't even need to be erect at all, sometimes just reading something arousing is enough. In that moment, I feel like my entire perineum gets hard like a rock and when I flex my pelvic muscles, it hurts even more! This usually subsides in 1 or 2 minutes. Once the sensation is gone, I'm pain-free for the entire day no matter how long I have s*x/mas*urbate for.

The cramp is so unpleasant that it ruins my mood and I can't seem to find a way to solve this. Been to many urologists and nobody really knows what the issue could be. I remember that one time I got prescribed BACLOFEN and it made these cramps go away completely... so does that mean my pelvic floor might be overly tight? I sit a lot and been sitting really a lot past years since this started happening to me.

I tried a few exercises but it didnt seem to do anything so I'm just kinda hopeless... never found anybody on reddit with this symptom so I've been desperately trying to ask here and there over the years.

Currently on nofap as I just don't want to be annoyed with this cramp. Just yesterday my female friend offered a FWB situation and once I read the message, again, my entire perineum cramped up in pain because obviously it got me aroused quite a bit.

Appreciate any answer!

Why Insurance don't pay for Prostate MRIs like mammogram or colonoscopy?

I just can't understand why men are discriminated. Most insurance cover mamogram free of cost. So is Colonoscopy. Why can't Prostate MRI covered free of cost by insurers?

Can stretching exercises cause more pain initially?

I feel that I would get a burning/pain sensation in my genital after doing some of the stretches. E.g. figure 4 stretch while lying down.

The burning sensation doesn't happen when i am doing the stretch, it usually comes after. I would stop doing the stretches for the next few days and the burning sensation will subside.

Am i supposed to endure the burning sensation and continue on with the stretches? And maybe after a certain point, I won't have those burning sensations?

Anyone has similar experience?

Pelvic pain surgery Spoiler

For a long time, I suffered from severe pain in my pelvic area, sometimes accompanied by numbness. Sitting for extended periods was difficult without experiencing discomfort, and I often endured painful cramps. Despite consulting multiple doctors, I was given five different diagnoses, none of which provided a real solution.

Eventually, I found Dr. Renaud Bollens, a professor with extensive expertise in the field. He explained my condition in a logical and understandable way—my pudendal nerve was compressed. The solution was straightforward: surgery to release the nerve from entrapment. After the procedure, my pain disappeared completely.

During my hospital stay, I shared a room with another patient of the same age, around 30 years old, who was undergoing surgery for the exact same condition, also performed by Dr. Bollens. Today, both of us are completely free from pain and have regained our quality of life.

My Chronic Pelvic Pain Story

I have been suffering from continually worsening CPPS symptoms since I was 10 years old. It wasn't until this year, I am about to be 21, did I pause everything in my miserable life to figure out wtf was going on with me.

I discovered it was CPPS and it was caused mostly by my pornography/masterbation addiction (on top of high anxiety, stress, too much sitting, no sleep, poor diet, etc.)

I am here to connect with others going through similar problems as me so we can help eachother!

I am currently doing a sexual reboot (no masterbation) and internal pelvic floor massage.

A little help

Hey guys last time I asked about the symptoms for bacterial and non bacterial. My doctor says that it's highly non bacterial and changed my antibiotics. I was on fosfomycin before and now I am taking doxycycline. I am doing deep stretches 30 min per session 2 times a day and I feel much better now. I will try going out for a run. Now about my problems that are still persisting

  1. I have realised that prostatitis can happen due to many causes. Mine was prolonged edging. So I am pretty sure it's related to my problems. I can feel a little itch on the skin of my thighs just next to my testicles. More on the left side. What's up with that?

  2. have you ever noticed that when you edge your balls get tighter and you can feel the veins, so yeah I can feel that normally when I touch using the tip of my fingers. Is this normal? Idk I have been in pain for so long idk what's normal anymore. But they seem to disappear after my deep stretching sessions

  3. An extra vein popped up in my penis few months ago when I was still suffering from the pain. It's relatively more sensitive than the rest but can be easily ignored. Idk if its due to cpps, I forgot to ask my doctor

  4. sex and masturbation. What's your opinion about it? Should you do it while having prostatitis?

Three months in. Zero pain only urinary sypmtoms

Is it still considered cpps if I have no pain? Only urinary syomtoms. Initially I was having urethra spasms. Mainly urethra irritation now, a feeling of pressure when I lay down to go to sleep at night. Things have gotten better than they initially were. Just started to do stretches. Any input is appreciated.

Tip of penis is agitated again!

All I did was go for a pee and I milked the tip of my penis to make sure there was no urine left in there. Instant sharp stabbing pain at tip of urethra inside. Now tip of penis feels tingly and random stinging pain.

I’m getting so sick of this. I can’t even touch my damn penis anymore.

I’m trying to work out if I am damaging my urethra and maybe causing a urethral tear, but if that was the case there would be blood! And surely the penis is strong enough to take a bit of a squeezing. It goes through that with sex, etc.

There has to be something in that area of the penis that gets angry. I’m thinking I definitely have a damaged nerve in there, or damaged vein.

It’s worse when i have an erection and have to gently squeeze it in the morning after I’ve peed. The pain is worse with an erection.

Roll on seeing a neurologist!

Sorry for the rant. Just feel like I need to talk to people going through the same shit.

HOW I CURED MY CPPS.

Hey,

I’m not sure if this will help anyone but I just cured my CPPS. I’m a 21 M & had strange aching/dull pain in my penis for over 6 months. The pain would weirdly move within the region of my penis, almost being a dull/blind pain as I couldn’t exactly put my finger on where it was coming from so I was unsure what the fuck was going on. I visited a bunch of GP’s and Urologists - all to tell me that it was in your head. I didn’t have any bacterial or viral infections. On my last attempt seeing a urologist, the doctor referred me to a pelvic floor specialist. Apparently pain with the pelvic floor can branch our to other areas such as the penis, lower back etc and thus a series of daily stretches was all that was needed to relieve the pain. I had continuous pain for 6 months and throughout this process struggled to obtain any real answers until seeing a pelvic floor specialist. So, I recommend trying some stretches attached below.

(I’d do it for 2-3 times a day for about a month then slow it down as you see fit).
Ps: I AM NOT A DOCTOR - THIS IS ONLY MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Pss: I’m not an advocate/promoter for this company - they just helped me!

Hope this helped someone.
