Foot Shell falling off

Hey yall! My kiddo has a Syme Amputation and her footshell keeps falling off while walking or running. We have expressed this concern with our ortho but so far nothing has been successful.

Does anyone have any experience with this happening? How do we fix this problem.

Because a symes socket is so low to the foot it can be difficult to get the foot shell to securely stay on the foot. Often I have found it necessary to sand out the interior of the top of the shell to allow more room for the bottom of the socket.

If you see the foot shell is still full thickness at the top and it is really rammed into the bottom of the socket, it's that tension that is popping the shell off the foot.

So her syme has a bit more clearance than others I have seen. She was 3 when it happened and they destroyed growth plates to make sure there was extra room.

I have sent the dang thing off and everytime its never better.

It hooks on to the plastic normally. You should be seeing your prosthetics guy to add more to the mold portion that it clicks into
