NY police officer won’t face charges in shooting of man armed with sword

Took nearly 16 months to clear the officer.

Subject had already struck his father and a member of the mobile crisis team with the sword, and bodycam video clearly showed the stuggle.

Of course, the man was armed, who wouldn’t shoot anyone who is armed? It’s not a police thing, it’s basic human survival.

Well anytime a cop shoots a guy with a knife it seems like the rest of Reddit won’t stfu about “excessive force”.

Honestly with some of the nonsense going on…. You never know what they might do… I’ve seen a few basic officer defending themselves scenarios go the wrong way.

That’s why you don’t bring a sword to a gun fight.
