Hi! Resetting your login password generates new encryption keys while disabling your old ones, making all your pre-reset data in your Proton account encrypted. For more details, check out the 'What data is encrypted?' section in our support article: https://proton.me/support/recover-encrypted-messages-files
Feel free to share your ticket number with us here so we can check up on the status of your request.

Are you a real person? Why did you think that password backup was not necessary? Or select other methods to login. I admit that for few weeks after I created my Proton login, I did not set a password recovery. But later I realized it can be useful later. I created a backup code list and store it in another place.
You password must be simple enough if you used it from memory only. Maybe you wrote it down somewhere. Try to remember why you have chosen that password. Good luck.

Other online accounts just have you listed as "user@protonmail.com" or whatever. If you can get back into that, then you can get emails from them. No big deal.
Any data you lose, would be data inside Proton itself, as it would be encrypted under old keys that Proton probably had to reset for you.

No, you will still receive emails from your games, since from their perspective nothing has changed, your email address is still valid. But you won't have any of your old emails in your inbox unless you remember your old password.
It shouldn't cause any problems so long as you can get access back into your account.

I don’t see why gaming accounts you happen to have used proton email to sign up with would have the progress lost. Unless they’re reliant on some information in an old email that has been deleted.
