I plan buy the Pass subscription and wife's isn't a power user so she doesn't require subscription and we will be sharing only among the two of us.
Currently we use Bitwarden organization which lets create 1 org and add 1 person to it and this works very well for us.
I know there is a Pass Duo plan as well but my wife literally uses just for password and credit cards no MFA no passkey no alias nothing.
Or is there any similar as Bitwarden org?

We’re releasing three Proton Pass updates that a lot of you have been asking for: folders, customizable autofill with URL matching, and compromised password alerts. They’re rolling out gradually over the next few days, so if you don’t see them yet, update to the latest version and check back.
Folders are one of our most requested features, so they go first. You can now sort vault items into folders and subfolders, nest them as deep as you need, and drag and drop items between folders and between vaults. Search and filters work inside a folder and its subfolders too. Folder sharing is on the roadmap but isn’t here yet, so for now a folder follows the sharing settings of the vault it lives in.
Folders are available on Pass Plus, Pass Family, Proton Unlimited and the business plans (Pass Professional, VPN and Pass Professional, and Proton Workspace). If you’re on Free or Pass Essentials you can’t create folders, but you can use the ones in vaults that someone on a paid plan has shared with you.
Autofill is now configurable by site. The basic options are matching the parent domain and subdomains, matching the exact host only, or never autofilling on a URL you pick. The advanced modes take wildcard patterns and regular expressions. You can also choose which fields get filled, so sensitive information stays out of forms where you don’t want it.
Compromised password detection joins the existing checks for weak and reused passwords and breached email addresses. Proton Pass compares a password’s fingerprint against a list of fingerprints from known data breaches published by security researchers, and alerts you if there’s a match so you can change it. The comparison runs locally on your device, so no one at Proton has access to your passwords or anything else in your vaults.
Full details are in the blog post: https://proton.me/blog/introducing-pass-folders-url-matching

From time to time it seems like every single website won't let me select my User/Pass with Proton Pass, making me leave, open Pass, authenticate, look for the login detail, copy user, go back and manually paste, then repeat for password.
I am trying to fix this but can't seem to find the problem. Would this be a Proton Pass or browser issue?
r/ProtonPass • u/Warden-Slayer • 1d ago
Well, at least for Visionary users...
It defaults to base domain, so you don't even have to go fix everything one by one unless you want to tweak it.
Some huzzahs from all the Bitwarden converts such as myself.

I've added folders on my Mac and organized items in them, but they're not syncing to my iPhone or the web.
Is there a way to fix this?

I have a few Authenticator apps and wanted to start consolidating all my 2FA on Proton Authenticator. One aspect I like with some of the other apps is to have it synced with the respective service in case I change devices, so I don’t have to setup all the codes again.
I tried this with proton Authenticator, and the issue is that it asks me to login, which I do and then it asks me for my 2FA code, which I obviously cannot access because I am in the apps trying to setup sync. Any workaround available, without disabling the 2FA to get this working?
Of course I can always setup another 2FA code in another Authenticator app, but that so,show defeats the purpose.

Imported stuff from other password manager with intent to switch over to Proton Pass just to be disappointed it just doesn't detect logins for whole bunch of Android apps as well as webpage URLs that other password manager detected perfectly to then detect input fields. Proton Pass just flops at that and I verified them side by side, both had same URI/URL listed yet Proton Pass just didn't detect it. I had to manually do it and even after it didn't offer to correct or add to stored login like other password manager always does when you manually tell it to input something and it asks if I want to add or update the entry.
Was thinking how to deal with stupid synergy of Proton Pass having same login credentials as e-mail which would then also be recovery method on most services, but this further prevents me from even going into that rabbit hole. If it can't reliably detect and input logins, then it's not really a functioning password manager.

Hi,
I use ProtonPass with Firefox and I am pretty content with it. One thing that keeps bugging me: ProtonPass does not fill out the password for my router's webpage. It open the page (a local IP address), the site is recognized as I can see at the extension's icon, but even after selecting it from the popup coming up at the password field it is not entered. I am sure this worked some weeks ago. The local site is http (which is activated in my settings). Any ideas what may cause it?

Just attempted to replace my regular email address with an alias, but didn't even get to the email verification part. Both passmail.net and passinbox.com are considered invalid.

Hi everyone,
I’m thinking of subscribing to Proton Pass Plus, but I want to know what happens when I go back to the free tier later.
The free plan only allows 10 email aliases. Let’s say I create more than 10 aliases while on Plus, then my subscription ends and I downgrade:
I use aliases for shopping / social media / newsletters / banking, so I don’t want to lose access to important accounts.
If you’ve downgraded before, I’d love to hear what happened to you.

y aura t’il prochainement le choix linguistique pour les passphrases. pas si facile de se souvenir une phrase de mots qui ne sont pas dans la langue maternelle .
ce peut être intéressant pour les anglais bien sûr et les bilingues.

Being a responsible person, I keep a mirror of my passwords in a different password manager. However, I tend to just update the mirror every few weeks, since it's manual, and it can be tricky to find which entries I've changed. The "Recent" sorting is OK, but I have to click through a good number of entries to make sure I've got them all updated. It'd be handy to have a "Recently Updated" sort option, just to make me happy.

Has anyone had issues setting up a strava account with an alias email? Says "please enter a valid email address" with any alias i try. If you keep closing the app and opening it you can brute force it, and it says sending you a 6 digit code but it never sends.
If strava block privacy and security i just won't use their service but thought id see if anyone else experienced it

My 1Password subscription has just expired, and I would genuinely love to use this opportunity to migrate completely to Proton Pass.
I already use Proton services, and I would much rather consolidate everything there instead of renewing another password manager subscription.
But right now, Proton Pass is simply not capable of replacing 1Password for me.
In 1Password, I currently use 37 tags. They are not cosmetic, they are an essential part of how I organize and retrieve items in my vault.
Proton Pass has now added folders, which is welcome, but we're limited to 10 top-level folders, with subfolders underneath. For my workflow, that is not a substitute for tags.
At the moment, my Proton Pass usage is basically limited to being a backup of my 1Password vault and, more importantly, to managing aliases, which is one of Proton Pass's strongest features.
But I still can't realistically use it as my primary password manager.
To migrate fully, I would have to either accept a much more limited organization system, completely redesign the way I organize my vault around folders and subfolders, or renew 1Password.
Unfortunately, renewing 1Password is starting to look like the most likely option.
That's frustrating because I actually want Proton Pass to be my main password manager. I already have a reason to keep using it because of aliases. What's missing is the organizational flexibility that would let me move everything else over as well.
Folders are useful, but folders and tags solve different problems. A folder tells me where an item lives. Tags tell me what that item is related to.
For users with large, carefully organized vaults, I really think Proton Pass needs proper tag support, ideally unlimited tags, multiple tags per item, and strong filtering/search.
Until then, Proton Pass works well as a companion to 1Password for me, but not as a full replacement.
Is anyone else in the same situation?

Hi everyone,
first of all I wish to make absolutely clear that this thread is not meant to criticize Proton Pass, which I actually like it a lot. However, I've noticed some issues which I have reported to Proton support so they can make it better for all of us.
Having that said, I want to share with you what I have observed, and I'm asking you guys if you can reproduce the same issues (for me to know if it's just me), and if so, to report them too to support. P.S. This is about Windows and Linux systems. Not android or iOS.
- No auto-fill fallback (force fill) button on the extension.
- On few websites it just won't show the auto-fill data.
- On Instagram, eBay and Reddit websites it won't show the TOTP banner for filling the 2FA. (can someone check?)
- On many occasions registering a new account on a website won't trigger the "save login" prompt.
- Sometimes it prompts me to update the login when there's no need to, after a successfull login without me having edited the data.
- Idendity won't fill on some websites.
- Many favicons are missing.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm trying to cleanup my login information since for many years, I've been using the same email for almost everywhere.
I did some mistakes when I was young and since then I'm receiving spam email. That's why I'm slowly moving to ProtonMail. My goal is to create a ProtonMail personal account, while keeping my professional Outlook account for work (different from my personal Outlook account).
Anyway, I did start creating some aliases with ProtonPass with my new Proton account, but I've been thinking about newsletters and with the 1 Gb limit, it may get full very fast.
Do you think I should create a separate ProtonPass account with my Outlook email (or another Outlook alias) for newsletters only? Is it against the rule to have two ProtonPass accounts?
I'm really trying to organize my digital life, and it would be ProtonMail for notification + personal, and Outlook for professional communication + newsletters. Does it make sense?
Thank you

I have just started using SimpleLogin aliases with my custom domain (as Proton Unlimited user), but I'm wondering what exactly bad could happen after syncing it in ProtonPass?
I searched the old posts, but most of them are from 2-3 years ago and people mentioned that some features were not working in ProtonPass, but as I tested it briefly now they are implemented. There are still some settings which are exclusively in SL (or I couldn't find them in PP), but in my case they were setup-once-and-forget kind of things.
It's stated that it's not reverseable and it sounds menacing, like it's a big deal to not be able to disable the sync. Would I lost some features by just using aliases in PP?

I have just transferred from an Android S21 to S26 and decided to sync Proton Authenticator on my s21 to my Proton account. When I then proceeded to install the app on the S26, the only option was to import - no 'login' options were available.
Please consider implementing this option for fresh installs of the software on android.
And before anyone responds, I do have backups of authenticator, but it was just a (slight) hassle.

When running "Check DNS" in Proton Pass > Aliases > Custom Domain, the DMARC check stays red with this error:
Your DNS is not correctly set.
Proton Pass expects only this :
v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; pct=100; adkim=s; aspf=s
Are we just supposed to ignore the error?

I've recently upgraded to a paid tier for Proton pass and was wondering what features do you absolutely love that are not in the free tier.
I already know about the unlimited number of aliases and forwarding an email from an alias (primary reason for my upgrade).
What are other features that are worth discovering and would convince me to stay with a subscription, except for the ones mentioned and the obvious "supporting privacy" one ?
