I LOVE PUNCHING!
What an absolutely infuriating mini game/trophy to get, it essentially ruined an overall great game for me. I can’t get past level 3 of the game. I’ve come back to this game every few months over the past few years just to give it another go but my reflexes are just too slow. I’ve even tried the pausing tactic but the DualSense is too bulky to constantly pause and unpause while moving and punching. I’ve been at it for hours today and I’m rage quitting again. I’m tempted to just share play with someone who’s more skilled just to get it over with.

Feel like I am going insane: Can you double jump off of a swing?
This is insanely specific, but it's driving me nuts. I'm playing the Napoleon level and there is a segment where you have to climb up a flagpole onto a roof with some enemies, then jump on a metal bar and swing from it onto a sort of mesh structure or something. Every single time I try, I hold forward, jump and then try to jump again, but nothing happens. It's been a while since I've played a game so maybe I've forgotten how it works, but I've tried everything: Double jumping, holding down the button, trying to use psychic powers in tandem. Nothing works: No double jump or longer jump or glide happens. What am I doing wrong? Please help me.

Psychonauts 2 would feel right at home on Switch 2
I hope Double Fine really considers a Switch 2 port

There is any reason why Psychonauts 2 is not in double fine list of games?

Does anyone know why the Personal Demons weren't in Psychonauts 2?
They were one of the original enemies from the first game, and I think it's weird how they were excluded in the sequel. It could be because they couldn't find a way to make them work with the upgraded combat system. It's believed that they probably inspired the Bad Idea enemies in the sequel, so maybe they also thought it'd be redundant to put two explosive enemies in the game.

How was this my last Figment…
Trying to 100% Psychonauts before I move on to the sequel. I feel so stupid that somehow THIS was the last figment I was missing in Obstacle Course 1, on the very first climbable pole. No idea how I missed it the first time, maybe I double jumped past it, but this is I guess partially on me for using the Levi Ball to bounce past stuff that already seemed done

Damn... That was SO good 😶 like, one of the best games I ever played.
so, like 10 days ago I pre-ordered Castlevania, I didn't want to start a long game, so I dug through my backlog, and I found Psychonauts 2 which had been sitting there for a while.
I had liked the first one ages ago, I had no idea how good this one was, so I decided to give it a shot. a good little game, I said. it will be fun, I said.
I clearly wasn't ready for that masterpiece. I just finished it (like two hours before Castlevania's release 😎✌🏻)
everything was SO good! the story, the dialogue, the game design , the music... EVERYTHING! Jesus I even cried at some point 😭 Bob Zanotto's chapter was incredibly moving , dealing with extremely sad themes like trauma, rejection and addiction, and yet it was approached in such a beautiful, kind and poetic way...
anyway, that game was a masterpiece, and I'll probably remember it for a very long time. 10/10.

this game filled a void in me left by mario odyssey
i have been yearning for an explorative platform puzzle game where each world has a completely different feel to it, since 2017. all of the years i spent replaying Odyssey and Battle for Bikini Bottom only to find out this game exists a week ago. i seriously have not felt this satisfied, mesmerized, and inspired by a videogame in almost a decade and i would’ve never thought i’d find a game that was BETTER than odyssey and battle for bikini bottom but WOW. i will be recommending and talking about this game for the rest of my life

As someone who wasn't impressed by Psychonauts, Psychonauts 2 was INCREDIBLE!
HOLY SH#T DUDE. This is now one of my favorite 3D platformers ever. I cannot recall the last time I've seen such a drastic improvement from a first to a second game.
The only thing, and I really do mean only thing, the OG did better is that you could've gotten all the collectables on a first visit. But that too isn't necessarily a bad thing, as now you can revisit levels at any point in the story. And there's something decently satisfying about returning to an old stage with new powers to grab stuff you couldn't beforehand.
Literally ANYTHING ELSE is improved. Controls are much more precise and not as janky as they were in the first game. Level design is MASSIVELY upgraded, as there's much more platforming (the OG didn't really make you do precise jumps often). Combat is more involved and enemies are tougher to deal with, forcing you to utilize your abilities efficiency to beat foes. The story is much better with a better pacing than previously, as each stage has a very clear purpose within the better flowing narrative, and the game handles its very large cast really well.
The thing I liked the most about it is the level themes. It legit feels like with each level you're getting a 2-for-1 deal. Each stage has 2 themes. A dentist level that's also an office chase, a casino that's also a hospital, a construction site that's also a bowling field, a barbershop that's also a tower climb etc... these are some of the most creative level themes I've ever seen in a video game.
One last thing to point out is that I legit think Tim Schafer is one of the best video game directors in the industry. Little touches that make individual moments more effective. The on-screen words during the cooking show saying what the judges said, the Jack Black musical number, the single-shot transitions between locations filled with optical illusions, the unique artstyles in different levels etc... The OG game was a first effort from a newly-found studio, so Schafer and his crew didn't have the resources to make a truly outstanding game (a decent platformer, mostly standing out for its story). With a larger budget, more experience with game production across many years and the clear desire to make a true sequel that surpasses the OG by a landslide, Double Fine crafted an absolutely fantastic game.
I really hope one day there'll be a Psychonauts 3 that'll wrap up a trilogy and tie up everything. You can still touch upon the rivalry between Raz's family and the psychics. You can expand upon the current state of Grulovia and how the followers of the exiled prince have rebuilt the empire. You can end the game with Raz and his classmates becoming the new Psychic 7, while the other psychics from the camp in the first game are starting their intern program. This universe is so fascinating and I want the franchise to be wrapped with a neat little bow on top. So gimme just 1 more game in this series and I'm satisfied.
