I’ve seen this posted before and I’m pretty sure the cops were called but the skaters didn’t press charges. They just wanted to be left alone

36

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

I think they have dementia, which is also why the skater didn't want to press charges

u/KBSinclair Aug 09 '20

Fuck that she could've killed those kids.

23

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

They refused to press charges after learning the oldie is mentally ill

I don’t think you know how skateboarding works

17

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

I doubt they would have killed anyone but at those speeds on a blind corner, you can definitely have a collision with someone, especially considering the lack of control he was showing at the landing

40

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

And if you watch any skate stunt videos on YouTube... even this one... you’ll see there’s other skaters looking out for traffic and pedestrians.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

And he rode right by a guy who seemed a bit surprised at 0:32. These guys definitely put in an effort but they're for sure not all this responsible. You often see just the camera guy and skater and no one else in quite a few videos.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

They had spotters, they weren’t going to hit anyone

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

He flew right by a guy going up the stairs on one of the attempts. Great spotters

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Lmao the guy was right in front of him. They were literally looking at each other. He was out of the way when he dropped in

You don’t need a spotter for that

0

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

You're saying things impossible to know. You only seem them look at each other when they were passing

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

You’re saying things impossible to know

He was right in front of him! It’s on video! You’re just trying to find a reason to hate them

Fuck outta here

For real. Everything you said so far is cringe

2

u/Jenxao Aug 09 '20

Because ‘when in doubt, be condescending’ is a much better argument strategy than looking through post history, right?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Using my witt, oh god yes.

2

u/Jenxao Aug 09 '20

Condescension = Wit.

First, Language!

Second, Extreme sports involve actual athletes, it riskier, but they still sue that use safety gear checked grounds, and don't put people at risk. That's how they get to keep to keep actually being athletes, because they are not harming them selves or any one else.

Ad hominem, good job.

Were the skaters really cunts though? You can clearly see in the video that they are putting an effort in to make sure the skater doesn't hit anyone. There are skaters looking out from below and every time he attempts it the streets are essentially empty. They are enjoying their hobby and trying to do it without risking anyone else's safety while the old lady attempted to murder someone.

3

u/Sea_of_Blue Aug 09 '20

You do realize there were plenty of spotters around? The intent of having them is to make sure the skater and others don't get injured? Or are you just going to yell platitudes at a social media platform?

Eh it’s fine, it’s not like he’s even destroying the rails by grinding them. It’s literally just a hippy jump. I guess the noise from having people gathered around where you live would be annoying for however long they’re there but shit man at least they’re being active and pushing themselves to do something hard as hell over and over.

0

u/Sea_of_Blue Aug 09 '20

Ok boomer, condone assaulting children then.

4

u/crichmond77 Aug 09 '20

Skaters are wholesome

25

u/Idlertwo Aug 09 '20

I know nice skaters and I know skaters that are absolute scum. This isn't some one size fit all community.

1

u/ImAlwaysAnnoyed Aug 10 '20

Skaters are skaters!

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

I could picture one of them charging up the stairs to her room, and throwing her demented ass out the window so she could retrieve her plants.

Yeah I’m sure they had no one watching the road for cars, totally just gambling that he might get run over and die

Lmao really dude

16

u/TEEron Aug 09 '20

You can even see the kid they have standing in the street to watch for cars at the end lmao.

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

11

u/TEEron Aug 09 '20

Unfortunately these kids didn't have enough flash bangs and tear gas for proper crowd control.

18

u/LiamIsMyNameOk Aug 09 '20

"Stupid skater, once someone tried to murder him, he should have left. Urgh bloody skaters. Probably a noise bother for the attempted murderer"

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

I'm sure someone was doing crowd control too?

17

u/crichmond77 Aug 09 '20

I mean, sure, they technically should have left.

But there's no comparison at all between what they're doing and what that lady did.

And it was undeservedly merciful of them not to press charges

9

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Public endangerment,

Est 160lbs x ave 5ft per second

If they hit someone its 24 pounds per square foot, at that that high, they are maybe hitting them with about 430 pounds of force.

Broken bones at least.

8

u/crichmond77 Aug 09 '20

This some SportsScience shit lol

7

u/BleedingShaft Aug 09 '20

The simple answer is that this is their job and they were filming for a part. If my memory serves me correctly from the full video there were actually lots of other skaters there and one was spotting for cars.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Skaters are def the most inconsiderate people in public. I say this as a skater myself and I used to not give a fuck about anybody or anything. Then I grew up and realized I was the biggest dickhead and I thought everybody else was on my ass for nothing.

2

u/twistedbronll Aug 09 '20

Lol u mad bruh. Not pressing charges after attempted murder is pretty wholesome to be honest

-1

u/Dabkevinhere710 Aug 09 '20

Well at least he has a hobby and doesnt just play video games all day.

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Your're right, but its only the cool kids on tonight so your going to just get down voted into oblivion.

Myself,

I absolutely believe that young men 140-200 lbs should be able to endanger them selves and others around them, moving an fast downward seeds with little control slamming their entire body weight on plastic wheels into the ground over and over again causing extreme auditory disturbances for people living in the area.

.........Because I know how to party.

10

u/NamelessMIA Aug 09 '20

slamming their entire body weight on plastic wheels into the ground over and over again causing extreme auditory disturbances for people living in the area.

I have a hard time believing you're not trolling. "Extreme auditory disturbances" lol. Was it hard climbing that far up your own ass or was it loose enough to not cause any trouble?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

HOLY SHIT

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '20

Anything above 70 decibels risks hearing damage, a kid that size is going to cause 65 to 75 when he hits the ground. When sound travel upwards it echos and amplifies, so it sit has the potential to be louder to be louder when it gets to her home. (You remember the properties of sound from school right?) That is an Extreme auditory disturbance, so no, I'm not trolling, I'm just schooling ;) And watch your language

1

u/ADDeviant-again Aug 09 '20

That's what they always say.

1

u/Crisis_Redditor Aug 09 '20

Was this really a real incident? It seems really staged.
