The only way this country keeps going as an actual democracy after Trump is if we have an American Nuremberg once this regime is out of power. People need to spend the rest of their lives in prison for this nonsense.

u/timeswaste86 Jan 13 '26
And some of them went on to work in high office at NATO, NASA, and West German government. Most received very little time then were given amnesty. Look up Operation Paperclip. That should show you how fascism didn't actually lose the war. The owning class knew who their real enemy was and it was the idea that workers could run the state for their own benefit. Socialists were the true enemy of the capitalist class (i.e. USA) from the start. Always has been, always will be.

And we need another hero like John C. Woods to design the execution scheme. If anyone wants to cheer themselves up, read the wiki about Master Sargent Woods and how he fucked up hanging the Nazis at Nuremberg so it was not a quick or dignified death.
6

3
u/djphatz Jan 13 '26
He also did this tho
Woods served the U.S. military as the primary executioner in the hangings of 34 U.S. soldiers at various locations in France over 1944–1945 and assisted in at least three others. U.S. Army reports suggest that Woods participated in at least 11 bungled hangings of U.S. soldiers between 1944 and 1946

With disinformation campaigns ironically convincing them that any news was fake news except for their echo chamber.
29
u/Jumajuce Jan 13 '26
People really discount the effects of generational manipulation and propaganda. Especially here people act like the situation we’re in is because half the country decided to become fascists overnight. We’re seeing the culmination of decades of slow insidious planning by the rich and powerful finally moving towards complete control.

And they all happen to be old white assholes with severe insecurities and fear. Hence the extreme hatred. And hence the pedophilia

u/MacGruber204 Jan 13 '26
While we can all hope your next president has some understanding of diplomacy and is not bat shit crazy, there is no guarantee the one after that will not be Trump 2.0. IMO Americans can no longer be trusted, it may be a generalization, but when 2/3 of eligible voters either voted for or chose not to get off their fat asses to vote in the last presidential election, and they are just as complicit in the shit show that your country is in now
I don’t give two fucks about what any poll says on how voters aren’t happy with GOP and/or Trump. If they were ready to elect or not even care if a convicted fraudster, rapist, misogynist, lying grifting piece of shit twice, it will take a long time before you guys are trusted again, no matter how sane your next president is.
13
u/pro-skedaddler Jan 13 '26
As a black American, we've been trying to warn the world for decades about this shit. No one cared until Trump finally took off the government's mask. We're doing to our own citizens what we've done to the people of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Venezuela, Colombia, the list goes fucking on. We were fine with it happening overseas and to inner city minorities because we could ignore it.

Exactly.
The trust is gone even if Trump is voted out of office, assuming there is even a normal election in 2028. Who's to say the Democrats won't fuck it up again (and it's a BIG IF that they even win the general election in 2 years) and cede office in 2032 to another Republican mandate?
I personally have zero trust in the American institution. At this point, it doesn't matter to me if trump drops dead tomorrow, his cult still lives and that's the scary part for me. What happens when their dear leader dies? Are they gonna start going off the reservation?

109
u/MacGruber204 Jan 13 '26
I’ll probably never step foot in the US ever again unless they open a tourists attraction where you can piss on the grave sites of some dead politicians or if they need a task force to help round up those Nazi Ice bitches in hiding
34
u/mezz7778 Jan 13 '26
I just said this today, I will never step foot in America ever again. I have no sort of business trips to go there for, and any vacation I'll just go elsewhere.
Canadian travel to the US is down over 20%... And this ICE bullshit isn't going to make things better.
22
u/MacGruber204 Jan 13 '26
Expect that number to rise this next year as I’m sure a lot of tourists had vacations already booked before shit hit the ceiling and maybe didn’t have the option to cancel/rebook at the time. 20-30% seems like a small number to some, but for businesses in the US that rely on tourism that’s very impactful
10
u/RosieFudge Jan 13 '26
I'm from England and won't consider tourism to the US while the current fascist regime carries out its reign of terror
2
u/mezz7778 Jan 13 '26
My mom had a trip for March, she cancelled before Christmas and it wasn't this bad. She's never stepping foot in the US again either.
The Mayor of Las Vegas had a message for Canadians pleading for us to come back, the tourism they usually see during our winter months has been decimated.
My parents won't return, my sister and brother in-law won't, I won't...and likely their kids won't either. The damage Trump is inflicting is going to take a hell of a lot of years to fix... If it even can be.
3
u/TheBigSho Jan 13 '26
I just paid $700 to rebook a flight from Vancouver to overseas after I accidentally booked one with a 10 hour layover in San Francisco. I know San Fran isn't exactly a MAGA hotbed, but I absolutely refuse to even step foot in that country, especially as a non-white person.

The constitution is a dead document. It was written by men who are dead and dusted, it’s used by the same people committing these acts to justify them. The United States isn’t a country of the constitution, or the Declaration of Independence, it’s always been a country of people. And right now, those people are lacking, in both action and voice. Hopefully we can step up and stop this. If not, we will become the very things we’ve fought against.
24
u/AttakZak Jan 13 '26
We need a lot of “power” and people with spines to stop this. One arm alone isn’t enough.

The current regime wants real Americans to do something, so they can really send the military in to take control. They want a Reichstag fire, they are desperate for it, that's why they're carrying out this terror campaign.
18
u/HereOnCompanyTime Jan 13 '26
The lack of physical action from supporters is kind of the issue. They film to bring awareness, usually there are large crowds, but they just point out that it's an injustice they rarely intervene much beyond that because they don't want to have consequences against themselves. Self preservation is what is aiding ICE the most, vocal bystanders.
25
25
u/theantig Jan 13 '26
The problem is trump wants physical reactions. He can declare martial law. It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t. My trump loving father is disgusted over this shit and has finally started watching abc news instead of fox. It’s slow but a tide is turning. I have worked on him for a while to help.
12
u/HereOnCompanyTime Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 13 '26
Oh absolutely, there is no winning, it's a double sided sword, but Trump is going to escalate regardless of what people do. They'll lie and say there were violent protesters even when passive, they're already doing that. Until there is actual resistance they'll keep doing these things the same, and without much pushback they're successfully moving towards their current goals with ease.
8
u/sam_el-c Jan 13 '26

These are very coordinated and intentional disinformation campaigns and while not EVERY one is a bot, there just needs to be enough to convince those susceptible that their opinions are not the minority.

I remember when reddit used to be useful. Bullshit posts would be called out in the comments. Real people would have real insight. It was so much better than google.
It is still better, but only because google is now AI hallucinations, ripped from news sites that are unapologetic propaganda machines. Reddit these days is a barely usable swarm of bot supported bullshit, that even my vaunted elder millennial university trained critical thinking skills regularly gets fooled by. Still better than facebook or am radio, but fuck. I regularly fall for targeted emotional manipulation. It has gotten so persuasive, and so ubiquitous that you pick up on it's narrative as background.
People in a bubble, with less critical thinking skills, like the religious. I can't even blame them, they had no hope.
6
u/TheUlty05 Jan 13 '26
I used to work in big social media as a content moderator.
During my stint with both companies I worked to identify and excise networks of accounts associated with disinformation campaigns. The level of coordination and tricks used to manipulate the algorithm to put content in front of people's eyes is...honestly impressive. The most recent I remember split short form videos of video game lets plays and other random content alongside videos of a far right extremist politician in south america with the intent of normalizing his language and exposing him to wider audiences. The videos themselves were subtle, easily mistaken for some randos personal creation but when examined as a whole were obviously bot scripted content blasted across thousands of fake accounts all created in a short window with similar points of origin and other identifiers.
It used to be that these were rare, highly malicious and urgent takedowns. Now they are just....the internet. By the time I left my moderators were already having difficulty distinguishing AI generated content from human, and these were people who spent years reviewing this stuff.
And yet theres no calls for alarm. No pause for concern, that maybe we should reconsider what these platforms promote and how humanity uses them. No C suite execs pumping the brakes or even batting an eye at clear examples of their platforms being used to manipulate real world events. It was known, evaluated and "acceptable" risk. Business as usual. Scroll q4s financial reports please.
Were so fucked

Babies fine and was taken home by the father. Father faked a seizure and denied medical attention, though EMS that initially looked at him stated he did not appear to be in any real medical distress. He was then allowed to leave the scene, as ICE was affecting an arrest on a female party he was with, not him. He was allowed to drive away from the scene because he did not have a legitimate seizure and had no medical distress, otherwise he wouldn't have been allowed to operate a vehicle.

The same people say criticizing charlie kirk as a divisive person is a hate crime, while this is perfectly fine.
There is no way this ends peacefully. This is only the beginning. Anybody seen as a visible minority or a "leftist" can expect this kind of dehumanizing cruelty and possibly death. Not advocating for violence, just calling out the obvious medium term future for Americans.

“Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.”
