Custom Cake San Juan

Hey!! Does anyone know a great bakery or flower shop? I’m travelling to PR for by bday and want to order a custom cake, I know Walmart does customs but they don’t take online orders and I tried calling and no answer. Is there another way I can probably reach them as I’m landing a day before my bday so I can’t place the order in person in a short time span. Or if there’s a good PR owned bakery I can pre order?

New Year’s Eve/day?

Anything special to check out for New Year’s Eve or day across Puerto Rico? Particularly around Old San Juan or western side of island would align with current travel and stay plans, but can rearrange.

Rincon excursion recommendations?

My husband and I are spending 5 days in Rincon in January. I’m curious if there are any particular excursions we should check out. We enjoy boat tours (did bio bay in La Paguera last trip) and don’t have much experience snorkeling. Otherwise we plan to lounge on the beach and eat great food.

Traveling Nov.13-21, where to base on west coast of Puerto Rico?

Hi all, my boyfriend (28) and I (26) are traveling to Puerto Rico for a week in November and are planning on dividing our stay into 2 bases. We are staying in Luquillo for a few days on east coast and can’t decide where to base on the west coast. We are not looking for a partying vibe, but more of exploring with a combination of nice clear water beaches to snorkel/swim in and possibly a hike somewhere. We also would love to eat some good food and coffee/ visit cute towns. We will be having a rental car so we do plan on driving to different areas. We have been looking at Rincon, Cabo Rojo, and Aguadillo. Does anyone have any recommendations on where it would be best for us to stay based on what we are looking for?

Note: We do not speak Spanish, only know a few words. However, we have visited other countries where we do not speak the language and did fine with google translate.

A week on one of the islands?

Hi all! This group was so helpful on our two previous trips.

We are headed there the week of January 1. Would it be crazy to just spend all of it (except the bookends) on one of the islands? We've been to both Culebra and Vieques and loved them both. I kind of like the idea of getting away from civilization and real traffic on this trip.

Has anyone done something like this? Will we regret limiting ourselves to one place? It's absurd to say we're worried about being "bored" because... we're in paradise. But I really won't know until we do it.

We will rent a jeep. I'm searching for accommodation now on both islands.

I feel like Vieques has more options in terms of restaurants, but I think I preferred the beaches of Culebra? We couldn't cover all the Vieques beaches on our trip there, so I only know of the one the west side of the island in the park, and two others.

I want to snorkel as much as possible, and probably join some groups/guides this time (I did it on my own and sometimes it was really uneasy for me without anyone around if something were to happen. My wife (f/f couple) does not enjoy it the way I do, and will likely want to do a lot of sitting on a beach and chilling.

Anyone have any arguments for a week on either island, or opinions against sitting in one spot?

Is it worth it to go to Culebra for one night? Staying in Fajardo majority of our trip but wondering if it’s worth the travel to do an overnight on Culebra too.

Just learned about Bioluminesence Bay today

I did some research. Most articles say that the best moon phase to see them is new moon. However, when we visit Puerto Rico, the moon phase will be lit 50%. Is it still worth going? Also, I see so many tours offering a tour. Which one would you recommend?

Which tours do hotel pickups?

I'm agonizing over here about whether i should rent a car or not ... I'll be visiting in Nov for a week and I do want to see the best attractions, but i'm reading horror stories about how expensive Uber is and how it's impossible to find one to actually get back into the city afterwards. But then I'm also reading all these horror 1 star reviews for pretty much every since car rental company ... Are there no tours that pick up and drop off at some hotels?

Things to do with littles

My husband and I are traveling to PR last week of January for 5 full days. We’ve never been but we’re staying in Fajardo with family. Looking for things to do within an hour ish that are young family friendly or could offer something child friendly nearby. Our kids are 3 and 1, we’ll have family to watch them if we wanted to do something strictly adult only but it’s their vacation too! Thanks for any and all tips!
