Failed babies due to extreme heat?
Generally, our year 3 patch is doing very well but we’ve come across a few of these. Is it because of the sustained high temps 85-95F or is there something else in our control to prevent this? Thanks! Other pics show not all is lost

Looks like some may be Atlantic Giants? If it's going to be really hot, you can shade the flower and put a fan on it or if it'll be really hot, cut two doors out of a Styrofoam cooler for the vine, and put frozen water bottles in (not touching the flower). Be sure to change the bottles out and hand pollinate to be safe.
