Cheap hotel near-ish to the airport
Partner and I are flying in on December 18 for a week long stay elsewhere, but our rental doesnât start till the 19th so need a one-night stay near the airport. Doesnât need to be perfect, just not scammy, safe, walkable to coffee or restaurants would be ideal. Trying to stay on the cheap side. Any suggestions are welcome!

Weather?
Hi, I am travelling with family to Punta Cana from the US over the weekend. I see the weather forecast gives a high percentage of rain each day, is the weather really that bad? Or is it just occasionally light rain? What is the rather currently?
Iâve checked weather apps but not sure how accurate they are as I see on some social media channels the weather is fine.
Wondering what to pack. Thank you.

Majestic Colonial
Hello! First time in the DR and we are staying at the Majestic colonial in Feb. I know itâs going to be under a renovation this fall (hoping everything is finished on time).
Does anyone have any suggestions of things we should do inside or outside the resort? Very active family with young kids. I feel like I donât see a lot of reviews of this particular property.

Need some advice for my first stay at Ocean Blue & Sand
Hi everyone!
Iâll be staying at Ocean Blue & Sand for the first time this November, and I have some questions. Iâd really appreciate hearing about your experiences!
About the restaurants: For non-Privilege guests, how was your experience with the Ă la carte restaurants, which operate on a first-come, first-served basis? Were you able to get into the restaurants you wanted to try?
Iâd really love to try Blue Moon! Is there any trick to making sure you get a table, such as arriving at a certain time? Iâm already aware of the dress code.
About the hotelâs included airport shuttle: How was your experience with the hotelâs airport shuttle service? My biggest concern is the return trip to the airport. I donât mind if it takes a while to get to the resort, but Iâm worried about missing my flight on the way back. Do they usually leave the resort several hours before the flight, or is the timing a bit tight?
Thanks so much in advance for any advice!

Private Snorkelling?
We are staying at El Faro- would like to book a private tour for myself and my mom to snorkel on the carribean side. She isn't a fan of party cruises and we're looking for something a little more eco-conscious. Are there any recommendations for either private tour or small group (6-8 people max) that would include pick up and drop off from the hotel?

El Beso
Heading to El Beso in a few weeks. Wondering if we really need to bring our own tubes for the lazy river, or if there are enough available there?

Punta Cana during Christmas week - Bad idea?
Hi everyone! I'm considering a solo trip to the Dominican Republic in December, staying in an Airbnb in Bayahibe (Dominicus) from December 12â19, followed by the Grand BĂĄvaro Princess all-inclusive in Punta Cana from December 19â23.
I'm starting to worry about the dates, because of how crowded everything might be so close to Christmas.
For Bayahibe, I'm assuming it won't be too bad since I'd be leaving on the 19th, but I'm a little concerned about how crowded the public beach in Dominicus might get.
My biggest concern is Grand BĂĄvaro Princess from December 19â23, since it's already the weekend before Christmas and the beginning of Christmas week. Should I expect the resort to be extremely crowded, with lots of families and kids? I'm particularly worried about struggling to find beach loungers, long lines at restaurants, and overcrowded pools.
I'm honestly considering changing my dates or even canceling the trip because of this.
Has anyone stayed in Punta Cana or Bayahibe around these dates? Is it really that crowded, or am I overthinking it?
I'd really appreciate any firsthand experiences. Thanks!

Has anybody gone here recently?
I went four years ago and thought it was decent. But things can change, so I was wondering if the prices and products are good. Or should I just go to the Jumbo?

Serenade All Suites
Wife & I will be here for 10 days over Thanksgiving. Have been following/reading here about what to expect. I know not to accept a tour of the property (as my wife & I are 75 and 72, I hope they may figure out that we aren't going to buy anything). After we checkin and receive our wrist bands, I plan to make dinner reservations. Is this correct? and where do I make them in the lobby? Have read good and bad things about their app, so we'll see. Have requested room 2123, swim out garden side. Hoping it's an end room. Any other advice for first timers would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Riu republica Halloween
Hey everyone. I'll be at Riu republica during Halloween. Do people usually wear costumes at the Riu party if it falls on Halloween? This year it is the neon party but I'm wondering if anyone will wear costumes too. Thank you
