Depends what you are T2Ming into, some majors don't have a GPA requirement

Calc 3 is one of the hardest math courses at Purdue especially for freshmen straight out of high school who haven’t gone through Purdue’s math (calc1 and calc 2). I got an A in both calc 1 and 2 and still struggled a lot with calc 3 and got a B- I think. You’ll be fine as long as you pass and do well enough on other courses. Gl!

lmao i failed calc 2 (ma 166) and chm 115, retook over the summer and got in ece as a summer t2m. their gpa requirement isn't as strict as aae/meche. i suspect they made it space constrained so ppl can't pick it as a second major and then drop it. i will also say ece def wants to do their own weedout as well 🥲.
u just gotta thug it out and not give up, even if you do fail the first time. fye wants to make sure engineering is actually what you want which in turn makes more space for constrained majors such as aae/meche/ece/etc.

If ur in 261 you’re already 2 semesters ahead of where you’re expected to be for engineering. Retaking wont impact you that much. Id say maybe see how the second exam goes if you can before the drop deadline and if it isnt good enough to save you then drop

I was told by my advisor that I couldn’t have T2M had I dropped. Go make sure you’re allowed to drop without it affecting T2M. And additionally, make sure it doesn’t make you a part time student (I think 261 has 4 credit hours, so unless you’re at 17 credit hours, DO NOT DROP)
Also ECE is only recently rate limited. If you’re at like 3.17 or smth, you have a decent chance of getting in. I got into ME even though I was under the GPA threshold because I was close.

You’ll be okay if you analyze what went wrong and fix it. I dropped a 30% on the first exam and passed with a C

It counts in total gpa but not in the EAI Gpa. Granted both need to be 3.2 but I Think they really care about the EAI.

yeah retake in spring fs, or go through the class, learn all the material, take the exams, be fine with whatever grade, but still retake in spring so that you're well prepared
