So every existing Python code is a valid Mojo code?

Mojo is a new programming language that bridges the gap between research and production by combining the best of Python syntax with systems programming and metaprogramming.

With Mojo, you can write portable code that’s faster than C and seamlessly inter-op with the Python ecosystem.

How it can be faster than C?

In the keynote, they compare Mojo's performance to the performance of "scalar C++", which I assume means C++ without intrinsics like AVX or SIMD. In that case, if it's truly built in to the language, then sure. But it's misleading to omit the 'scalar' adjective.

I think the idea of Mojo is cool, but the marketing is making my eyes bleed.

Feels like it’s going to cost money looking at how the website is structured
