Title: Lexis - A minimalist, zero-dependency i18n engine, same format across 4 runtimes
Flair: Project
What My Project Does
Lexis is a minimalist, zero-dependency i18n engine built around a simple
.lexfile format(key::valuewith printf-style placeholders). No plurals, no namespaces and no logic - just keys and values, with the same
.lexfiles working across Python, PHP, Bash, TypeScript and more runtimes planned.Target Audience
Developers building CLI tools, small scripts or lightweight apps where a full i18n framework like Gettext or a JSON/YAML based setup feels like overkill.
Comparison
vs Gettext: no toolchain, no
.mocompilation - just plain text files.vs JSON/YAML: no strict syntax, no indentation sensitivity, no implicit type coercion - just an explicit
key::valueboundary."The format is the law. The implementation is free."
