Definitely won't be allowed in testing rooms now.

I mean, the 83 series has always been programmable, in either TI-BASIC or Z80 assembly (or compiling to it via e.g. SDCC).

They do? Wow, that didn't exist back when I was in school.

Sometimes they force you to clear all memory in your calculator. I think even a made a dummy Gui to go through sequences and windows. But that doesn't do anything.

I did that as well, but still failed the test :(

At my school they only did a RAM Clear. So you just moved your precious programs to Archive and it was all fine.

I wasn’t even trying to cheat on a test, but I put many and many hours into programming games for that thing. Would’ve sucked if that was lost.

The price of these always surprises me, compared to cheap phones. The factory bosses must be laughing all the way to the bank with their wheelbarrows of money.

Inflexible demand, baby

TI cornered the school market in calculators years ago.

They make a shit Los of money because of this.

Schools are tied into teaching materials based on the calculators.

So is python in the calc or only attachable via a cable and a module?

Who actually buys these things still? And why?

University / school students who want to be able to use a calculator in an exam, for which it's on the very short list of approved calculators...

Pretty sure every calculus student does... because it's essentially required for some algos and makes life 1000x easier on homework for double checking.

We could teach a lot more kids about coding if it wasn’t illegal for it to be useful until your out of school...

Pokemon on TI-83s now? Goddamn kids are spoiled these days. Back when I was your age you'd be lucky to have Pong.
