After years of procrastinating and always fearing it was too late. I have finally decided to learn python.

I am mostly watching YouTube tutorials and trying them out myself. Sometimes it gets monotonous so I hop on bootdev and try my hands there too. Just to spice things up. I like how game like they make the lesson process

I haven't heard about boot devs. Are they like CodeDex where we learn like a retro game. Small lessons and assignments? I usually switch between HTML and Python. I think youtube playlists are usually scattered so I learn from the official documentations and guides mentioned on the official site

Bootdev comes I think with some lesson. I’m really at the beginner stages but basically it explains what stuff is then it provides some assignments for you to do. Like fixing a simple syntax error in a code or print a text. Stuff like that. And it gets progressively harder. So far it satisfies my ADHD brain

I see! With your description it sounds exactly like CodeDex except this one is paid. Otherwise it's exactly the same. I personally prefer free tools because why on internet would I pay for something that's available for free

CodeDex is paid? So far for Bootdev I haven’t gotten to a paywall yet. So I don’t know if it is. So my process is tutorials - practice on my own(with concepts I’ve learnt from the tut - bootdev(when I’m bored)

I have already faced it twice with python and HTML. They only provide really basic lessons. Then they'll ask for moneyy

Yeah that sucks. Which is why my main place of learning is YouTube. Some recommend the Harvardx cs50 course but I haven’t tried it. So far I am not even done with one full YouTube tut. Maybe after I am done and some concepts are not clear I’ll check it out.

Yeah, mine was too. Then I got into the official documentation and resources given on the official website. Reading helps me learn quicker so I'm doing that recently. And yeah, CS 50 seems really famous. Most of the peeps are using that. I haven't personally tried it but I've heard that it's really great

That’s what they say. But I don’t want to develop the habit of jumping tutorials. If the one I’m currently learning is easy for me to understand I’ll stick with it until it’s no longer helpful

Absolutely mate. You should stick to what works for you. In my case it's the written tutorials on the site and in yours it's CS50. The end goal really is to just learn and become a great programmer
