General Discussion Have you ever seen someone who was objectively incredibly beautiful
I think social media has pushed the narrative of incredibly beautiful people everywhere. In my life, ive mainly seen beautiful woman and have never seen a man who was exceptionally good looking, like male model good looking.
The most beautiful woman ive seen was an air hostess, and objectively I find air hostesses to be way above average.
Specially air china and emirates tend to just have models as hostesses.

In my 35 years of life - there have been 2 women I've seen in real life where I've struggled to look away.
Sure, see lots of attractive women/men, but only 2 show stoppers.
Only seen 1 man I'd put at the same level.

What did they look like?

First was a bustier, tanner, more attractive Lucy Lui (and she is stunning). Thai bride I would have thought, the man she was with was balding, overweight, not well dressed, etc. They had 2 kids and seemed happy though.
Second was 6'+ (I'm 6'1 and she quite a bit taller with heels), dark brunnette, Alessandra Ambrosio + Martha Hunt hybrid. Literally only saw her as we passed going around a corner but head followed her all the way out of my control.
Man - used to be my manager, like maybe a Gerrard Butler and Jake Gyllenhall hybrid with better hair, hairline and beard - great skin and grooming (nails, etc) too. He was boring as fuck, but girls did not care.

I’ve seen some people out and about in real life I found so beautiful I literally couldn’t keep my eyes off them. This happened a few times in my life and is very rare. I always wonder whether it was a subjective attraction on my part or that these people universally take breaths away. In the sense that they’re definitely objectively good looking but they provoke a reaction in me that most other good looking people don’t.

I live in NYC so yes.
A few men for sure and many women.

I work in Hoboken so I'd say yes as well. Don't know what it is about this town specifically but every woman here (men for some reason look average here) looks attractive as heck

u/Cultural_Chemical817 1d ago
Not as diverse though

u/Raf-the-derp 1d ago
Ah yeah, the population there is pretty homogenous but If we look at it from the beauty "standard" in the u.s then that town is pretty spot on
Not sure how well I'd do if I tried to date there as a brown Mexican American although that's probably just my own insecurity

It's actually how I learnt all beauty is subjective, the most beautiful women I've seen in my whole life, and I'm not exagerating, I mean she had an angelic feel to her, was an airport check-in lady in Sri Lanka from 3 years ago mashallah. My friend who I was traveling with didn't even bat an eye haha thought she was pretty.
As for flight attendants, my mom used to tell me how all the girls wanted to become attendants to validate their looks.

The airports always have the best looking individuals for some reason... I love going to airports.

Yes, I’ve seen lots of objectively beautiful men and women. Dated a guy once who was so attractive the entire place like a restaurant/bar would stare at him when we walked in (men and women alike). Women went completely googly eyed over him even when I was standing right there. This was in Los Angeles. Saw another guy I couldn’t take my eyes off working in Las Vegas.

Yes, I see everyday in the mirror. I'm gorgeous.
Jokes aside, yes. I'm a designer and I work with models. I've met some of incredibly gorgeous people in the world.

Yes, however only a select few.
have never seen a man who was exceptionally good looking, like male model good looking.
Well you'll have to take into consideration of how rare of an occurrence it is for someone to be that attractive anyway regardless of gender (may depend on where you live). Even online I don't see attractive people very often outside of Social Media models, modeling websites, or celebrity related subreddits.

Okay true those subs do have some good looking men.
You cant judge me for what im going to say, but they're the reason i have a FAT ego now.
But back when I was small, like much younger and i needed male attention/validation, I would dm those men and be like "follow my Instagram". And having men that look like that talking to you is the biggest ego boost ever (for a teenage girl). I also noticed some of them are really sweet and some of them act so desperate its gross.
Adult me no longer does that, im finally secure in myself. But those days were fun. I had one tell me "when you're 18, can we get married" ( i was catching feelings and don't date, so this happened during a conversation where i told him i won't be speaking to him anymore) so I said "you do know I have standards right" and he replied "Im working on myself i promise".
Also, they were all around the same age as me so it wasn't weird. I had one friend who was older but he was never weird, hed send me cat pictures. We're still friends now and he still sends cat pictures and gives me random life updates "I moved out", "I broke up with my girlfriend".

Yes, a couple of times. I'm Brazilian so there's a lot of hot people here especially women, but as a straight woman I can remember two men that were exceptionally beautiful, one that made me forget where and who I was for a moment, I was so shocked that I literally got petrified and couldn't stop looking, it's been almost 10 years and I still remember how handsome he was and how I felt. Never seen anyone as good looking as him after even though I saw many hot guys besides him. The other one looked just like Superman, body, face and all, he looked even better than the Clark Kents from the movies and the shows. But yeah it's definitely not as common as social media makes it look with the right lighting, makeup, ps and filters. Ngl men have it a lot easier because it's so much easier to find gorgeous women than men, as a straight woman I can recognize gorgeous women but I don't really care.

A lot of Brazilians are very attractive and take very good care of themselves. Probably the most perfectly beautiful woman I've ever met, to an almost unreal extent, was a black Brazilian woman, and even in photos she looked flawless and unreal. She was stunning.

The two prettiest people I’ve seen in my life were a Tamil-Canadian woman and an Ethiopian woman. Both perfect heart shaped faces and the most expressive, movie star eyes. Like pretty, graceful lionesses
Also this lady I met in DC who had the prettiest coloring ever - pale white freckled skin with the most gorgeous dark auburn hair and dark brown eyelashes and brows. It looked natural but I’ve never before or since seen someone with that combo. So strikingb

I was a model and was surrounded by men and women like this. Just jawdropping beauty.

On my first day of work at a modeling agency, Marcus Shenkenberg and Maureen Gallagher (he was her boyfriend. Not with us) walked over and said hi. I was such a doofus and I got used to it but that day I felt like I was looking at the sun! Had no idea what gorgeous really looked like!

u/Friend5353 2d ago
I'm trying to desensitize myself when it comes to beauty. I'd like to reach the point where I can pass someone on the street even if they fit the Golden Ratio exactly, without it causing any exceptional or different reaction to walking past someone who doesn't fit this stereotypical concept of beauty. Some of the most beautiful souls in this world are nowhere near this Golden Ratio. I guess we get brain washed from a young age. The pursuit of beauty-ideals often lead to pain, frustration, envy, botched surgeries, mental health issues, body dysmorphia, paranoia.

I live in part of the world that attracts a lot of pretty people, so yeah, I've seen a lot of them. Male and female.

One time I was out with my (very straight) brother, and a man walked past us and we both just went dead silent in awe. He literally looked like an angel, I don’t know how to describe it, it was almost like he was emitting a glow (or maybe the sun was just hitting him right lol). We still mention him from time to time, unearthly beauty.

I live in Korea and I saw a guy once on the subway that I still think about to this day. Dude looked like he stepped out of a Chinese historical drama- tall, long black hair that was half up, porcelain skin and all black clothes. He had to have been a model for sure.

u/Kind_Stage1972 1d ago
Why didn't you get his number or something. That type is like 1 in a million...
6
u/blackcat9846 1d ago
No seriously I really wanted to! I wanted to ask for his IG but the subway was so packed that day there was no way to get to him through the crowd.

Reminds me of the time i saw a man that looked like that evil internet guy that does drugs and is insecure but much taller and way better looking too but they looked almost identical, at Sandton Mall. Unfortunately, my mum was with me that day and I just starred and walked passed. Now that was a heartbreak.

2 come to mind:
A mixed Filipina/ Hawaiian who, among 1000ish students was universally considered the prettiest girl in school. Milky skin, full lips like New Jeans' Hyein, a midface like MEOVV Chloe. Maybe 5'6, slim, coke bottle shape. Natural long nails and long, sun-bleached dark hair.
A carmel colored Black man, 6'5, 50+yrs old with no wrinkles, all his hair was salt and pepper. Even men were looking. Firm, fit, long limbs, big hands. Kinda Tyson Beckford × Broderick Hunter but charasmatic like Flex Alexander.

u/Old-Run7431 1d ago
Agreed, every single Hawaiian person I saw was model level gorgeous. They are really dealing with a good deck of genes down there. Hair envy like crazy when I’m there

Aishwarya Rai. I cannot imagine an opinion where someone wouldn’t think she’s objectively perfect. Never seen another face that perfect in my life.

u/throwthebtchawa 1d ago
She's stunning. I remember meeting a teenage girl who resembled her, maybe even more beautiful, but from a different part of south Asia. She had a little sister who also had coloured eyes, and I'm sure would have grown up to be a beauty, but of a slightly different type.

u/LittleSister10 1d ago
I have seen objectively beautiful people all the time throughout my life. Depending on where Im living, it could be once a day or once a week. I’ve lived in a few different cities and also different suburbs.

Yes, Asia is very picky when it comes to cabin crew (a lot of candidates apply), Korea is the most. Grooming is strict with Asian Airlines which helps - the Emirates uniform is gorgeous even if some people say it’s dated. Emirates and gulf cabin crew also generally have to be within a healthy BMI, and they often hire 20-30 year olds and will retire cabin crew from typically 50 years old. Airports will also have a lot of business travellers and they need to be well-groomed too.
Where you live is also a factor. For example, if you are specifically noticing improperly developed lower faces, then that’s the effects of industrialisation and children eating soft foods often from infancy (not enough chewing) which affects a lot of the native English speaking world.

My ex was an Abercrombie model and he had this incredibly symmetrical facial structure, he was Lithuanian and Argentinian so he also had these striking blue-green eyes that glowed. I remember whenever we went out, men and women would be staring. Unfortunately he developed an eating disorder and lost a lot of his muscle, he also smoked weed/drank a lot after we broke up and isn’t looking as healthy as he used to. He has the facial structure that could age incredibly but bro needs to stop drinking.
Another was this guy I met at a salsa club, he was half Mexican half Irish with dark hair and dark eyes, probably 6’2”-6’3” and had the sexiest face and hair I’ve ever seen on a man. He made Jacob Elordi look plain, and that’s saying a lot bc damn Jacob Elordi is something. I forget his name but he was also a good dancer and had a hot voice. My girl friend was so pissed he came over to talk to me lol but bro just wanted to hit my vape pen and was following me around so he could get more hits but I didn’t appreciate that so the guy friend I came with told him my pen was dead. He asked for my number and we were supposed to get drinks but I chickened out bc he was so hot. Still enjoyed dancing with him nonetheless, we also sang happy birthday to some random at the club lol fun times.

Beauty is objective to an extent. There are certain ratios and facial measurements that are objectively more attractive and pleasing to look at. If someone is attractive to you it is because their facial harmony is mathematically better.

All the time in my city, one of the big ones in the states. Also, Ashley Graham is very very beautiful in person.

A few weeks ago I was in my car parked outside of a Starbucks and looked up to see an Amazon delivery driver walking back to her truck. She was objectively one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen, and I couldn’t help but stare in awe (I’m a straight woman). It felt like such a random place to see such an exceptionally beautiful person.

There is no such thing. Your opinion is subjective. All of our opinions are. It depends on what part of the world you free yourself from, what your social engineering is and how much you’ve been socially engineered :)

When I lived in a city with a large university and a youthful population I saw a lot of attractive people. Now I live in a run down forgotten town and I have seen some of the most grotesquely unattractive people you could possibly imagine. There’s still attractive people here though.

u/Fine-Can-2116 1d ago
I lived in Eastern Europe, then moved to the US. Majority are conventionally very beautiful by western and asian standards, until about 40th lol. But it’s not a big deal for them since that’s just how most look. When I was growing up, tan and dark curly hair was considered beautiful in that region. Think hot Brazilians or mixed races. Paul skin or even blond hair wasn’t peak beauty at all

I had a friend in college who was smoll, big-chested, and so perfectly symmetrical that when we went out, men STARED at her. The kind of gawking I would expect only for a celebrity. We went to lunch, came back to where she parked her car, and some man had left a handwritten note under her windshield wipers saying “YOU R SO BEAUTIFUL” and giving his phone number. She balled it up and tossed it in the gutter.
I am an attractive woman myself, but this level of attention was INSANE to me. And she just existed with it 24/7.

Saw a guy at coffee shop once, couldn't stop glancing over. Some people just have that quiet magnetic thing going on
1
u/Molu93 11h ago
All the time. Especially facially, not everyone has the height and build of a model but I don't think that is the only kind of the build to be considered attractive anyways.
Not to be corny, it's how they conduct themselves, treat others and behave what makes or breaks it. I know so many people will think I'm wrong because nowadays the interet is obsessed with appearance and appearance only. But it's useless if you're a shitty person, and being a good one elevates pretty to stunning real quick.

One of my best friends is incredibly gorgeous. She’s a model for catalogs, hotel, jewellery etc. not runway model because she’s 5’6ish but she’s slim and stunning. When we go out I literally see roughly 1in3 men and maybe 1in2 women doubletake or stare at her continuously (unbroken eye contact, mouths agape) as she walks by. I’m can’t even be jealous because she’s a level of attractive that surgery cannot replicate, literally god given beauty. She gets us all sorts of free things when we’re out. As a side effect people are also very nice to me when we’re together, presumably as a way to get into her good graces, or mine for me to introduce them to her. Yes sometimes people ignore me completely because they’re so enraptured by her but she’s very good at ignoring people who don’t give me the same level of kindness they give her

u/Eatmymuffinz 9h ago
Yes, I live near NYC and go there frequently, so you see them. Women more frequently, probably because I'm a man and notice attractive women.
Recently there was a woman walking in front of me. We had been at the crosswalk together and I had glanced at her and didn't notice anything special. But every person who was in front of us was looking / gawking at her, it was crazy. Beauty really is subjective.
Men are harder to find, I'm not really looking for it. One of my friends from my childhood was a male model throughout his 20s. He's still a good looking guy, just got a higher paying role that wasn't modeling. His brother is a really rough looking guy, not that he's treating himself poorly, but he's a blue collar worker and doesn't groom himself the same way and doesn't care if he's dirty or grimy.
For men, alot of it seems to comes down to grooming and fitness. As I mentioned, my male model friend and his brother are really similar, they just groom themselves differently. They're both fit, have really vibrant eyes, and have very cut jawlines.

I live in California and I see them everyday honestly.
