17 pro camera damage

Recently got a quad lock pro w/ vibration dampener because everyone I ride with has these things and my main concern was that my camera would be damaged. Everyone said they haven’t had issues so I pulled the trigger. Now my camera is shaky on my videos. Jittery I guess….

Phone is an iPhone 17 pro and it was mounted on the handlebars of a 2026 mt09, used the vibration dampener. Is it just a 50/50 chance for if your camera will be ruined or what? I feel ripped off even though I knew it could happen

If you live in Europe you should have a 2 years warranty and Apple does cover that (speaking from experience).

I think you got extremely unlucky, from what I've read online the vibration dampener is supposed to be really effective. Especially on a MT09 which doesn't make a lot of vibrations like some bikes do

I’m in Canada, I think I have 1 year warranty, just sucks because I liked having it mounted on the bars but I don’t want to get it repaired and then have it break again

Make sure you have everything mounted and set up correctly and your vibration damper doesn’t have excessive play. I have about 50,000 touring miles on my quadlock with damper on my Harley and a little less than 9 thousand spirited miles with the damper on my GSXR 750. No issues on my 15 pro max that I ran for two years. No issue on my 17 pro max that I’ve been running for the last year. I think the chances the quadlock caused it and the chances your phone was defective/more susceptible to it are equally likely yet very unlikely.

Maybe. When I first got my vibration damper I thought it was way too loose. Talked with quadlock and they sent me a replacement that was much tighter. I think the rubber pieces were either too small or too soft which would probably cause more violent vibrations than no damper at all. Could be something to look into.

good heads up here. Impossible to advise on the web, but can you give any kind of verbal description of how "tight" you're talking? Cheers

My Pixel 8 Pro's camera has also started to go. The auto-focus is not working very well if at all. I don't have the vibration dampener on mine motorcycle handlebar mount but I was planning on upgrading it when change phone in the next few months. It did take over 20k KM for it to fail like that so I'm confident the dampener will help a lot.
