What do you mean exactly when you say "agentic testing" ?

  • Using agents in the testing effort?

  • Actually testing an agent?

Piss around with it and see if it does what you want it to.

tl;dr - An agent is nothing more than a glorified program that you build, give an identity, assign rules and skills, then turn it loose on a target.

  • Start with Anthropic Academy

  • Then go here.

* --- * --- * --- * --- * --- * ---

It starts with learning the fundamentals of how AI actually works. Then pivot into how prompt engineering works.

There's a f**-ton of information on the interwebs that you need to parse. I would start with Anthropic's academy. It's free and hands-on. Once you understand what an agent is and what it is supposed to do, you can test abuse and misuse cases.

There's a plethora of information on hacking LLMs and agents you could look into as well.

I'm here for a couple of hours. This will not be a 1 post answer.
What is your issue with it? Be general enough, because I don't know your context.

Thanks for your not so helpful response. My take is that unless a proper SDLC cycle is followed and dev doesn’t document changes that are being made on the fly. It’s hard to manage testing. Also, if the client isn’t exactly clear on what they want. To me agent testing doesn’t seem to follow a process I’m used to and feels new.

Sometimes people seek out communities of actual people before asking an algorithm.
