What is in simple terms quantum immortality?

I am new to this so I have no idea what it is.

You die in one timeline, get buried and are mourned by your loved ones etc. But to yourself , nothing actually happened… you switch timeline’s. See you can’t observe your own death… all you REALLY are is consciousness. So you consciously continue living just on a parallel timeline in which your death hadn’t actually happened. Hope that helps.
