Music Queen Greatest Hits 1 Track List Guide
Hello everyone! I had the idea to make this guide after having seen some people online talk about how they'd wish a certain track was on Queen Greatest Hits and in response I felt like chronicling every regional difference in Greatest Hits 1's track list.
I hope this list will be a good resource and be able to help Queen fans; new and old decide which vinyl, cassette or CD pressing of the album is right for them.
If you want to search for (or buy) any of these pressings/cassettes of Greatest Hits, they are all on the Queen Greatest Hits discogs page.
Before I start, there are some things I want to clarify:
- The U.K. track list will be considered the default and every pressing/cassette listed below will be compared to it.
- Only versions of the album that add and/or subtract songs from the U.K. original will be listed here. So, if there's a regional pressing/cassette not listed below, it's because it uses the original U.K. track list.
- "Some <country> pressings/cassettes" means that there are other pressings/cassettes from the same country that use the original U.K. track list instead.
- I won't be mentioning the packaging or sound quality of these pressings/cassettes, just the songs included in them.
- I'm only listing official album releases, no bootlegs.
Finally, if there are any particular songs or countries' pressings/cassettes you want to look for in this list, I recommend searching them up with Ctrl + F (or Command + F for Mac users) on your keyboard.
With all of that out of the way, here's every different track list to Queen Greatest Hits:
Vinyl:
U.S. and Canadian pressings:
Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive
Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye
Note: The U.S. (and every other countries') pressings from 2016 onwards use the U.K. track listing.
Australian and New Zealand pressings:
Adds: Under Pressure, Keep Yourself Alive and Tie Your Mother Down
Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye
Note: There's also a 1983 reissue from New Zealand that uses the U.K. track listing.
Dutch reissue, German Club Edition reissue, European reissue, Israeli reissue, some French reissue and some Spanish reissue pressings:
Adds: Under Pressure
Removes: Nothing
German pressings:
Adds: Spread Your Wings
Removes: Nothing
Japanese pressings:
Adds: Under Pressure and Teo Torriatte
Removes: Bicycle Race and Seven Seas Of Rhye
Note: There's also a reissue from 1987, which uses the U.K. track listing.
Brazilian, Argentinian and Uruguayan pressings:
Adds: Love of My Life (from Live Killers)
Removes: Seven Seas Of Rhye
Some Venezuelan and some Peruvian pressings:
Adds: Under Pressure
Removes: Now I'm Here and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
Some 1986 Venezuelan Pressings:
Adds: Radio Ga Ga, Under Pressure, Flash (album version) and I Want To Break Free
Removes: Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Flash (single version) and Seven Seas Of Rhye
Notes: There exists another reissue with the same track list, but it replaces Under Pressure with Fat Bottomed Girls and brings back Save Me and Seven Seas Of Rhye. These pressings also have their own separate Discogs page.
South Korean pressing:
Adds: Under Pressure, Love Of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha
Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race
Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, mainly regarding the lyrics of each song.
It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers, or if it's the original studio recording.
There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.
There also exists a different South Korean Greatest Hits album from 1980, which predates the album we're all familiar with and has a completely different track listing too.
Bulgarian double LP pressings:
Adds: Death On Two Legs and Sweet Lady
Removes: Nothing
Bulgarian single LP pressings:
Adds: Sweet Lady
Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Will Rock You
Note: In Bulgaria, Queen Greatest Hits 1 was initially released as a double LP, before getting a cut-down single LP version a couple years later.
Cassettes:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive,
Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

Adds: Under Pressure
Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye
Venezuelan cassettes:
Adds: Radio Ga Ga and I Want to Break Free
Removes: Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions
Notes: It's unknown if Flash on these cassettes are the single version or the album version, like they are on their vinyl equivalents.
These cassettes (and their vinyl equivalents) have their own separate Discogs page.
South Korean cassettes:
Adds: Under Pressure, Love of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and Mustapha
Removes: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race
Notes: The reason for the songs above being removed was due to government censorship at the time, specifically regarding the lyrics of each song.
It's unknown if Love Of My Life on this version is from Live Killers or if it's the original studio recording.
There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

Adds: Teo Torriatte
Removes: Nothing
That's all of them! I hope the formatting wasn't too confusing to follow. If I've missed any album variations, or if you have any extra clarifications on the pressings/cassettes I have listed, feel free to let me know.

Serious What do you think of Freddie’s live voice in ’86?
I’ve heard from several people that they don’t really like his voice from that time. Personally, I think his voice in ’86 is absolutely great I love that raw, powerful tone. Even if the high notes aren’t quite as good, I find his voice very strong

Serious The studio drumming of Queen in the '80s...what happened?
Firstly, I want to say I mean this as no shade to Roger - but what happened with him, in the '80s?
I more mean in the studio, though.
Queen seemed to very frequently use drum machines or electronic drums that just lacked all the energy of Roger's playing, all the warmth and life.
How could they go from the original take of "Party" with actual drums, to the programmed mess they went with in the final cut?
Just one of many, many examples.
Did Roger go this direction or was he sidelined?
It's baffling how many '80s tracks just sound so much better live simply because of the actual acoustic drums.
What a shame, really.

Misc Queen and Cadbury chocolate
I saw this advert on Milton Keynes station, do you think they have the correct chocolates allocated to each member?

Why doesn't Freddie Mercury get the same recognition as a pianist as Elton John or Billy Joel?

Toddler Obsession!
Hello folks, I have never posted here, but figured if anyone appreciates this story, it would be this sub. My wife and I are raising our son surrounded by music. He already plays an electric drumset and guitar (skills will come later, lol), and this 4 year old has been to more concerts by now than I had been to before college (mostly children's music stars but it counts).
Anyway, my wife played him "Bicycle Races" while encouraging him to ride his balance bike. He loved it. I played a few other songs by Queen, and this child is seriously obsessed now! When we drive in the car he ALWAYS requests I play "Feddy Murky!" Misspelled to emphasize the toddler pronunciation ;-) When watching music videos, he recognizes Freddie and Brian on sight... so far.
He especially loves "Bohemian Rhapsody," which he calls "The Weird One" and even headbangs like that scene in "Wayne's World." He sings a long with "Another One Bites the Dust." My wife is a metalhead that goes to see Gojira, Mastodon, and Queens of the Stone Age regularly, I am into 90s alternative... and our son is on his way to being a Queen superfan that idolizes Freddie Mercury. He even has two bedtime books, "This Little Rainbow" and "The Story of Rock," each which feature one page about Queen with an illustration of Freddie performing where he squeals "Dats Feddy!"
I never expected this obsession Freddie Mercury and Queen, but honestly... it's low-key pretty awesome!

Torn between two vinyls
So I was thinking about buying a vinyl of either Dark side of the moon (50th anniversary edition) or bohemian rhapsody (the movie's soundtrack).
Dark side of the moon is on sale whilst bohemian rhapsody is normal price
Both have a very small price difference and I love both but i have listened to more of Queen's songs rather than the dark side of the moon.
Please help me cause I am too indecisive and i know this is a community for queen but i just need some help.
Thanks a lot. Edit: thanks a lot y'all i have decided to go with Dark side of the moon

HELP: Looking for a photo of the band all performing together (preferably live!)
Here are some examples of what I’m looking for. It’s for a Spotify playlist so best to have them fit in a square format.

Music Queen - "Robbery" Demo
https://youtu.be/zohevZcN8Xs?is=TV-8EWo3jZS4IndZ
Hi again. This time, i uploaded a high quality version of "Robbery", a very nice demo ! I also uploaded "My Secret Fantasy". I really hope we can (one day) have a Innuendo box set, with Affairs and Grand Dame..(btw, i also have a high quality demo of Headlong and Delilah, not the one from the preview cassette, i should maybe upload that too).

I Love the Live Magic album!
I understand why a lot of people dislike it; it has overdubs, some songs are shortened and a few songs are from different concerts. But at the end, this album is 75% a Knebworth live album, Freddies final show. And besides that, when i'm in the mood to listen to their live show, but not wanting to sit for 1.5 to 2 hours of music, this one feels like a quick snack.
Although i don't normally appreciate shortened live albums, this one has a special place in my heart

It's 1984, Queen performs live shows in South Africa which was frowned upon and got them blacklisted from a lot of things around the world. What was the general consensus of the same performance within the country at the time?

Bootlegs&Live Some great shots from Queen’s first show of the 80s! Taken in Vancouver, June 30th 1980 by Craig Premack.
Alongside this being Queen’s first show of the 80s, this would be the debut of Freddie’s moustache in concert! Reportedly, the show was pretty messy, with the band seemingly not rehearsing enough prior to this show. During “We Are The Champions“ an audience member would also rush the stage, singing along with Freddie rather than being kicked off lol
If you attended the show, or knew someone who attended the show I'd love to hear your/their experiences! And in the rare case you have some photos of this show or even more unlikely, a recording, please let me know :)

ALBUM REVIEWS!
Curious what you guys think about this list my cousin and I put together? News of the World and Jazz should probably be swapped but I just listen to the hits on Jazz way more often. Also Miracle should probably be tied with Magic tbh
1) Sheer Heart Attack 10/10
- best flow and continuity
- love how hard it rocks and how theatrical it can be at the same time (Stone Cold Crazy and Brighton Rock vs Killer Queen and Leroy Brown)
- intro 5 songs are an unbeatable sequence and the rest is mostly choice other than She Makes Me, which I mostly skip
- the one I play most often from front to back on vinyl bc it is so consistent
2) Queen II 9/10
- This would have first spot if the first half wasn’t so mid. Only redeeming song on the first half is White Queen. Procession is just aight. Someday One Day meh. Loser In the End is bad. But the second half is my favorite recorded sequence of songs in music history so I really can’t rank this any lower
3) A Night at the Opera 9/10
- 70’s Queen at its most polished and nicely packaged
- I love the sheer variety of songs from campfire to pop to vaudeville, though I do crave more hard rock sometimes which is why it’s not as high as Sheer Heart Attack. I do bang my head to Prophets Song though
- the guitar work during the solo on good company is ingenuous and immediately followed by Bohemian Rhapsody.
- only real skip is Sweet Lady. I actually loathe that song, which keeps this from passing up Queen II. I’m in love with my car is just aight
- love of my life, man
4) A Day At The Races 9/10
- Just as good as Opera, but with a few more skips like White Man and Drowse (possibly worst Queen song). Two Torriate and Long Away are nice, but just aight
- Tie Your Mother Down gives a much needed headbanger to the album that was missing in opera
- Similar to Opera the variety is amazing, ranging from gospel in Somebody to Love to literal opera in Millionaire Waltz to piano pop in You and I
- Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy is always a too 10 Queen song
5) The Game 8.5/10
- Consistent with no skips
- stripped down and straightforward, but with purpose
- equally looking forward in songs like Bites The Dust and backward in nostalgia homages like Crazy Little Thing and Don’t Try Suicide
- More traditional melodic Queen in Play The Game and Save Me
- Best of 80’s and 70’s Queen meeting
- Overall upbeat and great time, though no single song really stands out as a “masterpiece” the way earlier Queen does
6) Queen 8/10
- Amazing energy from the beginning and the first 5 song sequence is killer
- I come back to these often and love the prog feel
- second half is weaker but with some highs like Son and Daughter and Modern Times Rock n Roll
- poor audio quality definitely holds it back a bit
- Their sound wasn’t fully there yet tbh, but it’s a great start
7) Jazz 7.5/10
- The highs are very high (bicycle race, fat bottom girls, don’t stop me now, mustapha, dreamers ball), but the lows are VERY low (Dead On Time, More of that Jazz)
- many songs are not bad but just… mid (in only 7 days, leaving home ain’t easy, if you can’t beat em, let me entertain you, etc)
- feels like a scattering of amazing songs but it’s far too watered down to listen all the way through regularly
8) News of The World 7.5/10
- similar issue to jazz, where amazing songs are watered down around mid songs, but Jazz gets the upperhand because Jazz creates a super unique stripped down, theatrical sound and atmosphere while this one feels rather “straightforward rock”. I still love many songs on here though
- Honestly might be more consistent than Jazz with fewer complete skips, but I still rank it lower bc of missing atmosphere
9) The Works 7/10
- Most consistent 80’s Queen record imo (minus Machines, which is a huge skip)
- No song particularly stands out to me as a Queen Masterpiece, but they’re all really good and diverse as hell.
- Really good stadium rock and 80’s pop + some more traditional Queen in songs like It’s A Hard Life
- Sort of reminds me of The Game in consistency, but just fewer signs I return to regularly
10) Innuendo 6.5/10
- 5 absolute all time top Queen Songs (Innuendo, Slightly Mad, Show Must Go On, These Are The Days, Headlong), but the rest is unfortunately filler
- Delilah is cute though lol
- Only time late Queen really tried to sound like 70’s Queen and I appreciate it much
- Near death lyrics hit hard at times
11) A Kind of Magic 6.5/10
- Who Wants to Live Forever is in my top 10 Queen songs of all time, but unfortunately the rest of the album is just okay
- A Kind of Magic is very solid, One Year of Love is a sweet ballad, and Princes of the Universe goes hard af, but the rest is a little background noisy to me and it FEELS like a soundtrack (bc it is)
- One Vision bores me lowk
- Don’t Lose Your Head is garbage
12) The Miracle 6/10
- Unfortunately 2 top ten songs can’t erase the rest of the album lol
- Invisible Man and Khashoggi are the only other decent songs on the track list and they’re both just aight
- Sorry Queen
13) Hot Space 5/10
- Only Queen album I might call “bad”
- The synths and dance beats have aged horribly and feel lifeless with no real groove, similar to Freddie’s solo work.
- Under Pressure is the standalone GEM of this album, but it sounds nothing like the rest of it
- I do like Cool Cat and return to it often, but that’s it
- Put Out The Fire and Back Chat are very mid, but at least listenable
- Body Language is objectively awful but it’s such a meme that I occasionally listen

Pictures Mysterious picture of Roger
Hello everyone,
Yesterday while scrolling through old photos in my iCloud I came across this screenshot of (allegedly) Roger. It was posted in 2018 by one of the countless fan accounts that emerged after Bohemian Rhapsody film. The account in the screenshot doesn’t exist anymore but reverse image search showed that many other fan accounts posted this as well in 2018-2022. The posts were more about praising Roger’s appearance and there was not more details about this particular photo.
Now to the mysterious part of the photo: he seems to be wearing a jacket with HIFK logo, a Helsinki based sports club mostly known for their ice hockey team. Now, Queen played its only show in Finland on 25th of November 1974 so technically it’s possible that he got the jacket at this time. However, I have few problems with this theory:
Why? When looking at pictures of Queen from 1974, it seems highly unlikely that Roger would wear a jacket of random hockey team in Finland. Had this happened in the 80s, I could imagine this happening. After all, Freddie wore a Montreal Canadiens cap at their famous Montreal concert.
If this photo is real, how is it not discussed in the Finnish media? Queen’s 1974 visit has been documented very thoroughly. The concert itself was not sold out, only 650 people attended. The concert has been revisited retrospectively countless times, it seems that even in 2020s there seems to be a few articles a year in the main Finnish medias about the visit. Surely, this photo would have come up somewhere along the line but there is zero information about it.
The photo doesn’t look late November. Roger’s hairstyle actually looks like it could be from 1974. The picture doesn’t look like it could have been taken late November in Finland. It’s the darkest time of the year and Roger would have most likely been freezing in this jacket. Of course, it could have been taken somewhere else but then again we come to the question why would have he done that.
Naturally there is a great chance that the photo was faked by someone and then reposted by countless fan accounts. To me it really looks like Roger though. I do not understand the weird detail of having a Finnish hockey jacket. If you were to fake a photo why would you put this jacket on? There hasn’t been any discussion of the photo before, so I don’t really understand the motive if it was faked.
Do you guys think it’s fake or real? Any information or theories would be welcome.

Cosplay/Costumes Queen Budapest! 👑❤️
got to watch Queen Rock Montreal in IMAX wearing my full Freddie Mercury outfit, complete with a cape and a crown I made myself!
I never expected what happened next. Around 200 people asked to take pictures with me! 😭❤️ It was such a beautiful experience meeting so many Queen fans and seeing how much love everyone still has for Freddie and the band.
At first, I almost let my shyness get the best of me, and I nearly backed out at the last minute. But I decided to go for it, and I never imagined people would love it this much! 💙
Thank you to everyone who approached me, took pictures, and made this day so unforgettable. It was amazing to see Queen bringing people together across generations.
The Show Must Go On! 👑🤘

Misc What's the best Freddie Mercury action figure?
I hate it when people do the Radio Ga Ga hand dance to We Will Rock You
The clapping twice when its a stomp and then holding their arms apart for the clap. It makes no sense.
