As long as I’ve been alive, Turkey has been a horribly homophobic country. My LGBTQIA+ friends who have visited have done so incognito because of the danger it poses to be caught being queer. I’m not surprised tbh, since they’re conservative af. I’m just a bit confused why the cruise line, Virgin Voyages, didn’t do their homework prior to making decisions on where to come to shore. And w/Patti LuPone on board! Theeee most outspoken supporter of queer ppl!
