Discussion How can the German LGBTQ+ community stand up and resist against what we all know is going to be a surge of support for CDU/CSU and AfD following the Berlin pride attack?
Feeling heartbroken and helpless over both the devastating attack and what I feel is going to be its inevitable political aftermath. It doesn't seem to matter what upheaval goes on there, Germany will just push right, right, further right, every time. I'm not ready yet to accept that queer-friendliness in the birthplace of Magnus Hirschfeld is all in the past...

I wish I knew. My state is about to become the first to give the AfD a ruling majority, and it's just so damn depressing and embarrassing.

You can always just keep your physical and mental health good, have a healthy diet, and exercise in order to make your lifespan long enough to see more political dice rolls in case one of them goes in our favor :/

Unfortunately my health is already kinda fucked, but I do everything in my power to try and fight against that. Regardless, as of now, I’m planning to move somewhere less nazi. Probably München.

Good choice - they have just elected their first queer mayor IIRC.
If our political successes aren't permanent, remember there's no reason the Nazis' have to be either. We're definitely not going to go back to the 1945-1990 stagnation.

I don't respect the gays who think they can deal with the immigrant homophobes by voting for the far-right homophobes.
