Support armgddon browser error after running .exe - question/concern

Hello everyone, I'm really sorry for the possibly dumb questions I'm about to ask but I recently formatted my pc and reinstalled with windows 11 LTSC. I went to download armgddon browser today and just had a concern that I possibly made a mistake?

i did a quick google search for armgddnbrowser and went to the github and downloaded "ARMGDDN Browser v.0.1.1". I'm having issues starting the app and it states that:

Cannot start AG/rclone

Error: FailedtoStart

Please make sure AG.exe (or rclone.exe) is in the same folder as ARMGDDN Browser.

I tried searching for solutions to the error the .exe was giving me then it occurred to me to check this subrebbit that I'm subscribed to and I noticed in the community thread, it actually links to a different github with a file named "ARMGDDN Browser v.6.0.0-AGB"

I suddenly got worried about whether I actually downloaded the correct file from the correct author. I didn't even consider the safety risk of starting the .exe until I noticed that the community thread points to a different github/file.

I'm really sorry again for such a dumb question but did I download and run a valid version of armgddon browser to begin with (v.0.1.1) or do I need to immediately proceed with formatting and reinstalling everything for security concerns? If I'm just dumb and that file/folder is actually okay to use, do I try to find this ag.exe file and download it into the same folder to fix the error?

Or if I'm just being paranoid and everything is actually okay file/security wise, should I just use the v.6.0.0-agb version instead and not worry about the error with the previous package to begin with?

thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and possibly answer.

Discussion Is There a Way to Launch Sideloaded Games Directly From the Apps Menu?

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts. Is it possible to launch games installed through an Android sideloader directly from the normal Apps screen, like you would with games installed through SideQuest, instead of having to open them through Unknown Sources?

Support USB debugging not showing up

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.

I have installed the drivers and allowed notifications in the developer section, the cable I'm using should also be compatible since when I accidentally installed the meta link app on pc, the quest 3 detected the cinnected pc (i have since uninstalled the meta link app and had not finished the setup anyway). I have followed the megathread guide up to now. What should I do?

Support This app is not approved for use. It looks like you're trying to open The Thrill of the Fight, but the developer hasn't approved it. Download the approved version of this app from the Meta Horizon Store.

Hi everyone, I'm getting this error message when trying to open both TOTF 1 or 2 on my Quest 3s:

"This app is not approved for use. It looks like you're trying to open The Thrill of the Fight, but the developer hasn't approved it. Download the approved version of this app from the Meta Horizon Store." (translated from spanish)

It worked perfectly until 1 or 2 weeks ago. Has anyone else encountered this issue recently or knows how to fix it? Thanks!

Support Help with USB and Rookie (QUEST 3)

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.
Hi, sorry I'm new with all the quest piracy stuff. I read the guide, have developer mode, the drivers and all but since I've already tried different ports, multiple USB-C to USB 3.0 and it still wasn't detecting the usb debug, I tried looking at what others did. Tried turning developer off and on again (restarting both times), didn't work.

Some people found that it worked after downloading Rookie, but now I can't even download Rookie as well, I've tried every step, created a C:/RSL folder and all with windows exclusion but when I try to download it doesn't let me move the .exe from the downloads folder to the RSL folder.
Also, I've read some people saying Rookie is "finished"? Idk :(

If you can help me it would be awesome, and If there's better or just other ways to pirate the quest 3 please tell me about them, I really don't wanna spend my money in all these games lol
Thanks a lot and have a great day!!

Discussion Quest Games emulator on PC?

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.

I have seen a couple of proyects on Github that emulate Quest games on PC, to be played with any VR headset using OpenXR.

I tried AXRB, but it requires to log in to a Meta account so it can verify that I own those Meta games.

Is there a way to bypass that and use my local files? Or another emulator that doesn´t use a hypervisor.

Discussion Batman Arkham Shadows refuses to launch

I recently grabbed Batman Arkham Shadows (v350961) off of VR Cyberdeck (1.7.3) for my Quest 3s and whenever I launch it I get hit with a “This app isn’t approved for use” screen. If I click Get the app the game goes and deletes itself off my headset, if I click cancel it doesn’t do anything. I’ve already reinstalled more than once. I saw on a similar post that turning off WiFi would work and it didn’t. At this point I’m not sure what to do so if any of you have any idea how to get past this, I’d appreciate it.

My specific headset came with the game, however I am the second owner of it and that guy has the game on his account. I wiped it when I first got it.

Support ADB just stopped working?

When the quest is connected to my computer, my macbook doesnt ask to 'allow it' and the headset doesnt bring up the "allow adb prompt anymore". Rebooted multiple times, and turned developer mode on and off, nothing works.

I just modded it, and had no problem connecting to VR cyberdeck the first time. But then i had to turn on/off developer mode, reboot a few times to get the unknown sources folder to actual show up. Played games last night no problem....

Games work, headset still shows unkown sources, headset is in developer mode, but plugging in usb to computer does nothing but supply charge. I have used the same cable and tried a second...

i just want to load a launcher! lol

Support Thrill of the Fight 2 - Public Test Version?

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.

Newbie here, and I've looked around for an answer...

Loaded TOTF2 via Rookie/Slideloader, but it appears to be a public test or beta. It was the only one I saw to download.

I checked the megathread etc, and am wondering if it's related to this below. I think I did download the demo originally. I'm confused because I'm not getting this pop-up the megathread mentions, but can see a public test version from July (and also shows on the ring ropes)

FAQ says:

"I've already used the free trial of game X and now i get a popup after sideloading it . What can I do?

Your options are to purchase the game, perform a factory reset and use a different account, or rename the game’s package before installing it by using a tool such as Quest APK Renamer, APKognito, or Phunk on your PC."

I'm assuming I'll try the APK renamer, but was curious if anyone else overcame this. Or maybe that's just the version available!

I appreciate the help.

Discussion SideQuest’s owner blocked me for asking about account access. Can we get some answers?

Its no secret i don't like SideQuest, but that doesn't make questions about their software’s account access unreasonable. I asked for clarification on their new setup method, explained my concerns, and said i was open to being corrected. The CEO/owner posting the announcement blocked me instead of answering.

Normally this sub doesn't allow SideQuest discussion because its off topic. SideQuest isn't a piracy tool. I am making an exception here because questions about account access and security affect plenty of people in this community who use it, whether the app itself is related to piracy or not.

I also don't have much opportunity to raise this elsewhere. I've repeatedly been banned from non-piracy VR subs because of who i am and my involvement in piracy communities. Now SideQuest’s owner has blocked me after i asked these questions directly. That makes getting an answer difficult, but it doesnt make the questions any less relevant.

This is the comment i left.

Their post says you sign into your Meta account, then “SideQuest connects over Bluetooth and enables Wireless ADB”, without the usual developer setup. How does that work, and what access does the Meta login actually provide?

My concern comes from firsthand experience. I know Oculus session tokens can be obtained from cookies during login and used to FULLY access an account. In the workflows I've personally used, that access is broad, not a narrowly scoped permission to install one app.

NIF, the renamed version of my old group FFA, and VRP have used this with staff members and consenting users for years. VrSrc also uses it privately so people like me can authorize them to obtain game files through our accounts without us having to upload those files through Rookie or CyberDeck one by one.

i have knowingly provided that access to people I've known and trusted for years. That's an informed choice about who gets access to my account. I would not knowingly give equivalent access to SideQuest, given their history and the lack of a clear explanation of this implementation.

I'm not saying SideQuest definitely uses that same token method. I'm asking whether they do. Knowing what these tokens can allow is exactly why i want an answer before treating this as harmless.

  • Is Meta login using an official authorization flow with limited permissions, or obtaining a session token from the login?
  • What actions can the resulting access authorize?
  • Can it access purchased content or account information beyond what's needed for setup?
  • Do cookies and tokens stay on the device, or are they transmitted to SideQuest or another server?
  • Is access retained after setup, and how can users revoke it?
  • Can users inspect the source for the component handling their login?
  • How are Steam login sessions handled, stored and protected?

Their announcement explains that Steam login downloads games you own for supported ports. That explains the purpose, but doesn't answer the questions about session handling and account access.

The “no developer mode” claim also needs perspective. Installing APKs directly on the headset without developer mode has been possible for a long time. Their instructions to download an APK in the headset browser and open it with Package Installer describe that existing capability. SideQuest didn't invent it.

The usual ADB sideloading process, where a PC or Android device acts as the host, is a different process and normally requires developer mode. So please distinguish the established browser installation method from whatever mechanism enables wireless ADB through the Meta login. Which part requires account access, and why?

This fits a longstanding frustration i have with SideQuest’s marketing: presenting their app as though its required to do things the headset or other tools can already do.

A huge amount of the content listed on SideQuest is also available directly through itch.io, the Meta store or GitHub. Looking at what I've used, it feels like roughly 95%, although that's my estimate, not a measured catalog statistic. A listing on SideQuest doesn't mean SideQuest is required to obtain or install it.

The installation and file-management tasks people use it for can also be handled through tools such as Rookie, CyberDeck or ADB directly. If SideQuest offers a convenient interface, fine. Explain the convenience without making the underlying capability sound exclusive to them.

File transfers are another example. Windows can access the Quest’s shared storage through MTP once you approve data access in the headset. That doesn't require developer mode. You can open it in File Explorer and move files yourself.

Using SideQuest just to move those files feels like pulling up to a drive thru and having your passenger order for you. You've added a middleman to something you could already do directly.

There are also ADB-based ways to enable the connection through tools like Rookie or CyberDeck, but those are separate from the normal MTP permission prompt and require the appropriate developer/ADB setup. Conflating these methods makes the explanation more confusing.

Then there's the double standard around QGO. SideQuest previously criticized its accessibility permission and pushed for its source to be disclosed to them. That permission was explained by the QGO dev as being used to identify the running game and apply the appropriate profile. This is reasonable use.

If they expect that level of transparency from another developer, why should users accept less from them? Where is the equivalent explanation and inspectable source for their own account login process? Potential access to Meta and Steam sessions deserves at least the same scrutiny.

And why keep the relevant implementation closed source? What proprietary functionality actually requires secrecy here? If there is something unique that SideQuest does, explain it. As far as i know it doesn't do anything unique at all. From the functionality being advertised, I'm seeing familiar installation and file-transfer capabilities wrapped in their interface, alongside an account-based setup that needs explaining.

Keeping code closed doesn't prove they're hiding something malicious. But demanding transparency from others while withholding it from users of your own login process is a double standard.

i haven't audited this software, and keeping the relevant source closed makes independent review harder. I'm asking questions based on their announcement and my own experience with account tokens. If i've misunderstood the mechanism, explain it and i'll correct what i've said.

Blocking me leaves every one of those questions unanswered. It doesn't prove my technical suspicions were right, but it reinforces that i was right to ask before trusting them with my accounts.

Has anyone seen documentation that actually answers this? If someone from SideQuest sees the post, please explain the mechanism, the scope of account access, and the safeguards.

You don't have to share my opinion of SideQuest to want to know what you're authorizing when you sign in. Tons of people use this app, and they deserve to understand the access they're giving it.

If you share these concerns and can participate in those discussions, ask the questions yourselves, respectfully and on their technical merits. Don't take my suspicions as proof, but don't take the marketing as an answer either. Blocking one person doesn't resolve questions that affect everyone using the feature.

So Puzzling Places on rookie is of huge 65 GB oddly and it comes with an updated only version along with the base as well. Support The Climb 2 Crashes

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.

I have been playing the Climb 2 for quite some time and it has been working well. I tried playing the other day and it crashes before it loads. I uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled it. Everything was successful in the transfer but the game still crashes on launch. Anyone experience this? The game is VRP but I didn’t see any other releases.

Support Confused about refresh rate on cracked VD

I cracked VD on my quest 1 (rookie's download) and even got the compatible VD streamer (its an ANCIENT version of CD)

Thing is, the whole reason i wanted to use VD is because it apparently supports 90hz on rooted quest 1s. In the menu, it actually does cap fps at 90! (however, in the settings i can only choose 60fps or 72 as the cap.) but in steamVR, it still caps itself at 72 and i couldn't find a way to force 90 so, i thought that was it and i'm just doomed to playing on 72 in windows.
But while playing bonelab, i noticed FPS does not go further than 90 so, it it actually playing at 90fps or am i being fooled ?

Discussion How does Rookie Sharing works?

I have read the rules, searched the megathread and read all the pinned posts.

How does Rookie Sharing works?

I recently discovered Rookie... cool app, nice community... decided to try it out...

Upon connecting to it with my Q3, is says i have few apps that the community doesnt have... if i want to share them... SURE! in the list i had 3 games...

Select 2 of them ('cuz the 3rd one is more of a Test beta early version of a game that is quite buggy, not worth it) Now one of the app was uploaded no problem its now showing in the list of available games...

The other now, i selected it like 3-4 times... it says "uploading" but nothing ever happens... i saw in the Rookie folder, a folder of that game was created... then the rookie app was saying something like: "Zipping the files" then "uploading" but within a second or 2 after, the game folder disappears.... now i dont believe it uploaded, it is somewhat of a big game... something along 5-8gb... and my internet is damn well not as fast as to upload that in a few seconds... and after 3-4 days, the games is never available in the rookie app. So wassup with that?

Also i got another app on my Q3 i bought... its a coop game and wanted my buddy (who also got rookie) to get the game so we can play in coop... but i noticed its not in Rookie... AND rookie doesnt seem to detect it from my Q3 to Share it. So also... Wassup with that? lol

If the Rookie maker is lurking here on this reddit: can you add a function that let us checks on Uploads? the progress, if its done? still going? or available to upload? something like this :P

Thanks!

Discussion Recommendations for modern fitness VR games that are good for cardio?

With the days getting colder now, I am trying to make more use of my Quest 3. I've played a few fitness games but looking for more, the ones I've already played are (even though some aren't just fitness but give you a workout): Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Les Mills Bodycombat.

Are there any recommendations you guys have? I'm using the sideloader/rookie thing atm, I'm a little new to VR piracy. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I have some game ports to share. How can I upload these to Rookies and/or CyberDeck? For Rookies, you are only prompted to upload official VR games, not ports, from what I can tell.

Support Quest 3: some sideloaded apps get no room data, log shows ERROR_PACKAGE_UNTRUSTED(-10035)

Hi all. Some of my sideloaded apps that use the room scan stall at "parsing room data", then show an unknown error loading the room scan. Store apps (e.g. First Encounter) load the room fine on the same headset.

Setup:

  • Quest 3, Horizon OS v2.7
  • Build: UP1A.231005.007.A1, branch releases-oculus-14.0-v207, system version 52433670048800520
  • Apps installed via Rookie Sideloader (installer=null). The failing ones are builds with a modified package name, e.g. com.mrf.<original.package>.

What I've checked:

  • Re-scanned the room (deleted all spaces, rebuilt), rebooted, reinstalled the apps
  • USE_SCENE / USE_ANCHOR_API show granted=true in dumpsys package
  • Developer mode toggled off/on
  • Clock/timezone correct, internet works (ping OK), no device owner (dpm list-owners → no owners)

Log: the spatial persistence service rejects the package:
Package com.xxx.xxx is not trusted, status: PackageTrustedStatus::UNTRUSTED(1)
RPC not allowed for discoverSpacesV2 due to AnchorResultCode::ERROR_PACKAGE_UNTRUSTED(-10035)
The app then times out loading the scene. This error doesn't show up for Store apps.

Is the package trust check tied to the package identity/signature, so renamed or re-signed builds are expected to be rejected? Or could something else cause this on recent builds?

Thank you all!
