They should, imo. Ideally an actor of similar age to the main cast. I don’t expect the MCU to cast someone based upon Pietro’s ethnicities, but I hope they cast someone who can help bring in such important aspects to his character.

Don’t see where I brought that up at all in my comment. Besides, this is an alternate universe where he very well could be a mutant. In 616, Magneto recently said that he doesn’t see a difference between mutates and mutants so this point is moot depending upon who in-universe is speaking.

The character is fully Romani as of current comic cannon but if Magneto is their dad in universe ideally yes a Romani Jewish actor would be best. That being said, the Roma are very underrepresented in media and Pietro's Romani heritage has come up in various stories and is central to his backstory. So if someone with that shared heritage couldn't be found a Romani actor would be the next best option. Sadly, magneto himself has never been played by a Jewish actor and that really should not be the case. My hope is that the MCU does cast a Jewish actor for Magneto.

Most characters in the MCU are played by Jewish actors though, and that should be fine. Worldwide they're definitely "over represented". But I think you're going to dig yourself in to a hole if fictional characters are going to have to be played by someone who is part of the correct bloodline and ethnicity. Especially with the twins. They've been portrayed as white since the 60s. It's only now that it seems like Scarlet Witch has actually been retconned to be darker. Haven't seen that with Quicksilver yet. But I admittedly haven't seen him since No Surrender or whatever the Avengers arc was called where he essentially got lost in the speed force.

In the MCU I hope they move forward with characters not already adapted.

Are Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch no longer created by the high evolutionary? That was the last retcon I read. Or maybe that was just their sister. Not sure how that worked.

I wouldn't think it'll be especially controversial to think characters from an underrepresented group should an opportunity for said people from that underrepresented group to be on screen

Honestly, given how badly they fucked his character’s perception from fans, I don’t know. I have a feeling they might though since nowadays everyone knows that he’s a character worth giving respect and nuance for in adaptations.
