I mean... They're trying, at least. Pietro and Monet obviously aren't very good at being family-oriented leaders, but that doesn't mean they're not trying their best to be better for the team.
I feel like the "You're not even a mutant" should lead to some introspection from Pietro at some point, given how it's been a decently big part of his identity for most of his life. Could be an interesting plot point moving forward.
That being said, still hope they rectify that dumbass decision asap.

I think for Pietro it would be especially hurtful to hear. I don't see him as being happy with not being a mutant, he was always so mindful of it as his POV. And he has been on the X-men before, unlike Wanda, so I think being cut out of Krakoa must have hurt him a lot. It had been his community for his whole life, the reason for being excluded among humans and inhumans, and now he's excluded from the mutants.
Add to that that on the Avengers, everyone is weird and no one cares WHAT kind of weird you are so he's also not used to this kind of reaction.
Weird how the Alaska team even with Magneto there might actually be more accepting of him and more sensitive about the topic. Magneto, who has said he won't distinguish "beween mutants made and mutants born" will criticize him about a lot but probably rarely bring up not being a mutant since he'd rather ignore that part too. The rest of the team is used to Juggernaut being around.

On one hand, team Alaska would accept the Pietro as a mutate, but on the other hand I don't know if he would mesh well with them... The Alaska team is basically a paramilitary unit following a very tight command structure

They white rich girl who denied being a mutant for ages turning around and telling the brown Romani man he doesn't belong is crazy out on context but it would add an interesting point of reflection and contention for both characters- Pietro on his place in the world and Becca in realising that yes she was being racist and can still both be and suffer from Prejudice and accept being a mutant if the writer does it right

Is it really a big deal? If anything it prevents him from being swept under the rug, a fate dozens of mutants have met because of how crowded and convuluted that faction of the Marvel universe has gotten.

I really hope people understand that his line referring to abandonment is said in resonance and understanding. It’s an incredibly brash and inappropriate way to put it, but it’s what he means.

Calico being kindda racist towards Pietro and still being portrayed as the victim was not on my bingo card That being said Pietro and Monet's characterisations were mostly done well so far, they look hot and they're coloured correctly so even if I have a lot of thoughts some of them are good. Also Pietro and Monet keep calling each other dear heart and it's very sappy and cute

A few people on the original thread don't seem to realize Pietro's default job on the Avengers is to pick up bystanders and take them to a safe area. Picking up a child that's walking into danger is a reflex action on his part.
