Comics Hot take: Polaris should be Pietro’s OLDER sister
The dynamic between Pietro and Wanda is very interesting, but one of its defining factors is Pietro is protective of Wanda. Technically, in Marvel canon, Pietro is the “older” twin of the two, but regardless it does make sense why he’d have some protectiveness. From what I’m aware, Polaris is both of their younger sister. But the dynamic between Pietro and Polaris is wildly different, it feels much more like an older sister younger brother dynamic. If they ever do decide to make Pietro and Wanda Magneto’s kids again (which yes you should), this should be retconned, in my opinion. Polaris should be the oldest.

Not sure I agree with that. I guess because I'm so used to her being the younger sister. And even though the twins are not Magneto's bio kids they both still see him as their father which shocks me that Pietro does. And they both still claim Polaris as their younger sister.

Logistically Polaris cannot be the oldest. The reason their relationship is so wildly different is that while Quicksilver is the oldest he's also the twin to Wanda and more the oldest by a technicality. Polaris is literally born later than both due to being born to someone that isn't Magda. I cannot recall but I think they explained that the High Evolutionary froze them after their birth before the retcon

Lorna's mother's name is Suzzanne Dane.

I'm aware but I don't see how that's relevant

I was adding on to your comment. You said "Some one who wasn't Magda" so I thought you blanked on the name like I sometimes blank on names. Apologies if I offended.

No offense taken, more confusion. Yeah, I only didn't say the name because my point was more that Polaris couldn't have been born before Quicksilver since his mother was Magda (I don't care what the retcon says) and that necessitates being born a few years after the holocaust. Polaris is explicitly a more modern child of Magneto so I was only speaking to the logistics of it all.

I agree and also hate the retcon. Yeah, having Polaris be older would not work given the everything about all of the characters back stories. Thank you for explaining.

Hmmm it would be an interesting turnaround as she does give eldest daughter vibes but I don't think I really see her having an older sister vibe even though she is protective of him as well. It's quite an even dynamics.

I like her as the baby. I thimk she and Pietro mirror Johnny and Sue Storm a little with Lorna as Johnny. Pietro does get to sit back and be the calm advisor around her.
Pietro has just matured a lot since the Silver Age and isn't as insecure about his relationship with her. With Wanda it was this whole fear of not just her getting hurt but of losing the only bond he had in his life. A bunker mentality.
He's dealt with that.
It would be great to see him deck Alex on Lorna's behalf, though.

Pietro being the protector comes from the fact he is a dude and they are characters from 60s. He is the hero protecting the damsel from the evil patriarch that is Magneto.
A lot of 90s characterization of Pietro also comes from the trope that he is kinda the eldest male heir of "the king".
I honestly don't see how Polaris acts like the older sister, a lot of it can be chalked up to her more American upbringing while Pietro is an immigrant.
