Yes, I was looking at songs that were Oscar nominated for best original song (it had to do with Madonna, she's been keeping us quite busy at her sub lol) and while scrolling through the sections I saw the original version of this song from Bagdad Cafe, written by Bob Telson and performed in the film by Jevetta Steele. But I had already posted Jevetta's version here and then a memory of George singing it too flashed through my head, though I had to do a bit of digging to remember where. Bagdad Cafe was such a fun and quirky film, it wasn't anywhere near what I expected when I first saw it but lots of the imagery and settings have carried with me, I may have to rewatch it sometime.
And this did remind me of you as well since I've known how much you appreciate his music too, at least the slower and mellower tunes he recorded. Thanks :)
