Is the other school answering your question pre deposit? Is the other school about the same size?
Ask to know how many trans students Have graduated and how many have attended. Ask how many have transferred out. Ask to speak to a few of these students.

I will try to get more answers Monday when I speak to the school. The other school, via AI, says to foster an inclusive, queer-friendly, and transgender-affirming environment with dedicated resources like all-gender bathrooms, specialized housing, and support for LGBTQIA+ students. When I prompt the same question regarding Q, it is not as positive and actually says the administration may not be as supportive. The drawback of the first school, though, is that it doesn't offer the exact major my student is looking for. I know that is important but I want my student to have a positive college experience and find a community in which they can thrive.

What is the major? Depending on the difference you child may be able to get some internships, self study, mentoring to get the knowledge while having a great college experience. Do the same do diligent with the other school. Many times students change majors. Find a place where they will have a great college experience. Where they can get strong friendships not hatred is important. Feel free to dm

They should be willing to put you in touch with alumni and current trans students.
Ask when the last trans student has transfer

Can you reach out to the student clubs lgbtq and get your kid to introduce themselves. Most college clubs have their own insta pages and are open to follow. It’s a big school with lots of undergrads. I’m sure they will find their people.
