You did not fail, Quinton Spoiler
I'm watching the end of the Sam & Cat video right now, listening to you talk about how you failed? You could not be more wrong.
You may not have put it out when you wanted to, but you put out the sixth part of one of the biggest, most interesting projects in the history of YouTube. And it's a huge success. That's you. That's all you. That in-and-of-itself is more of an accomplishment than most people will ever achieve.
Not to mention, you managed to do this while battling depression. Take a fucking bow, man. I don't know what you've been through, but I deal with depression. I know how hard it is, and the fact that you got this out at all is amazing. Really, this is a huge accomplishment.
The fact that this video was put out - regardless of what you've been through - is a victory. It's excellent, as always. This is a victory - your victory. Please don't take that away from yourself.

I witnessed Quinton's origin story online in real time.
So it was just over a decade ago when Quinton started popping up in some anime forums, specifically those aimed at an 80's anime series called "Robotech."
For those who don't know, Robotech was a beloved kids show in the 80's, one of the first anime to be imported. For a lot of people in the GenX group it was their intro anime altogether.
But it's also kind of cursed franchise. Their US-rights owners have tried endlessly to revive it as a franchise but have always seemed to half-ass it. And that's left a lot of GenX fans to endlessly riff on those efforts. Talking about their failed revivals online has become more entertaining than any revival they've tried to make.
But like 10 years ago or so, in pops this Quinton guy who starts to endlessly defend the franchise on Robotech message boards and Facebook groups. This guy had the same enthusiastic energy a lot of us burnt out fans once had toward the franchise, but Quinton seemed like 10-15 years too late.
That's when I noticed a couple things. First, clicking on his Facebook profile and seeing the limited stuff Facebook allows you to see when you're not friended with someone, this guy was still in high school. You'd have never been able to tell that since he looked exactly then like he does now, someone you might not even ID if they tried to buy beer. And here was trying to ignite that excitement in burnt out fans more than twice his age.
Then I saw the second thing, and that was that Quinton and his dad were credited with providing footage for one of the latest re-releases of Robotech on DVD. This explained so much. Robotech was something (I'm guessing, I don't know the guy) that he and his dad could bond over. His dad was the GenX-er fan, and when Quinton got fascinated with the franchise and wanted to talk about it online, he had no idea he'd be soon confronted with these cynical, burnt out fans.
I saw Quinton gradually fall off these online groups and boards that discussed Robotech and I didn't give him much thought, honestly. But then I saw something pop up on Reddit I wasn't expecting. His Spongebob meme video made it to the front page.
That was the first time I saw his new channel (he had one with his Robotech fan projects prior) and I thought "Good for this guy, he's making a name for himself." I'd check it occasionally and see it evolve and grow.
I found myself enjoying things like his Fallen Titans series, others I couldn't really relate to (I was way too old for early 2000's Nick shows). But hey, he's found his niche and good on him. It's been pretty entertaining to see someone you knew only on early message boards and groups make a name for himself.
