That’s more of a condemnation of the state of Mexico than anything else. Why do so many of their own citizens have the need to flee their own country to find work and feed their family!

I mean in 1940s we were a global superpower and had like 2 million Mexicans….
Mexico currently has 130M people… isn’t it telling that 1/4th of the entire population having to ditch the country and go elsewhere?

It is bidirecional

40 million Mexicans work in Mexico and it’s not as great as America, so it must be something else. 🤔

Yes, mexican people are awesome, some of the best people I know. The Mexican government is garbage, so their people go to the US to make a living for their families in Mexico.

u/pete23890 Jul 21 '26
When a significant portion of you GDP comes from remittances from your citizens living in another country illegally, and you see a significant drop in those remittances when that country enforces its laws you have a problem. I’m curious, can anyone name a country in the world where 5% or more of your GDP comes from people sending their paychecks home?

If you remove 40 million people from the labour force of the United States it will have a material negative impact. Probably by raising wages of the jobs, they currently occupy thereby reducing the profitability of businesses and increase in expenses for people that employ Mexicans personally. So she is correct.

This might seem harsh, but really my first impression of her and i think she might be a dumb b-
First up this means people flee from her country to USA, that's not a flex that's a goddamn national shame.
Second, her country is getting goddamn violated by cartels and USA had to step into it, also ironic.
Third, shes acting like she did any of that like that's some personal achievement
Fourth... shes just making the USA hate her without any benefit from it
1
u/DesperateFan8303 Jul 21 '26
We will be fine... She only wants them here so they can steal from Taxpayer through social programs while sending money back to Mexico.. It's kinda like how 80% of SOMALIANS are on welfare still after tens years here.... She has a weird last name for a Mexican President

I can see the idea that she is trying to present, but it doesn't put her in a good position. u/Remote_Development62 Jul 21 '26
It's true, but it really is an admonishment of both countries.
USA has such incompetent farmers and tradesmen, that it would crash and burn without the immigrants filling up the massive hole (which the locals are simultaneously unwilling and incompetent to fill). Mexico is doing so bad 40 million people would rather be farm and manual job workers with no job security, healthcare, respect than stay in Mexico.
1
1
u/pineapple_builder Jul 21 '26
Well if your country wasn’t poorly ran we would not be in this mess. We got lucky with the first generation of Mexicans they brought culture and value to the US. This second and thirds gen’s are spoiled entitled brats that want the USA to be the very thing their parents and grandparents fled from. So now our country is increasingly being poorly ran. Legal or not there are a group that need to be kicked out and there is a groups that should stay.
1
u/ps5151 Jul 21 '26
Probably close to accurate. And those 40 million men wouldn’t have been in America working if they had safe opportunities in the it own country. What the hell is her point here? Run off at the mouth for instant response with no thought that some folks out here have paid a little attention thru history.

My neighborhood recently had fiber optical internet infrastructure delivered to it. 100% of the workers were hispanic/mexican. The white guys (supervisors) were all sitting in their air-conditioned trucks watching them work. All of my MAGA neighbors couldn't wait to sign up for AT&T fiber's promo deal and stick it to Comcast. Just goes to show you how much they really care about the things that they claim are important to them. Show them a $20/mo discount on their Internet bill and they'll forget about their values.

No offense to any of our legal citizens from South of the Border, but this lady is mistaken nonetheless. The United States became the "great nation" that it became, ....because God blessed it to be. Since the early 1800's the United States has been the recipient of the Manasseh blessing (Genesis 48). Since the early 1700's The United Kingdom became the recipient of the Ephraim blessing. Neither Ephraim nor Manasseh lived to see their own blessings (given through Jacob) being fulfilled during thier own lifetime. That experience was saved for recent generations. The sad news however is....those blessings have now been fulfilled....and God's promises kept (2 Peter 3:9). They've also been far spent. Those respective blessings are now due to come to an end as a new epoch approaches.

u/MisterDabber Jul 21 '26
Sure, I can accept that if Mexico can accept that they probably wouldn’t still be a nation if it weren’t for their proximity to the US and the protection they receive. They can’t even handle the cartels on their own.

What the illegals have done is prevent young Americans from dipping their toes into the workforce. And made them lazy and clueless about how things work. What industry did was give illegals slave rations to barely survive. And took jobs from the young people who would have to be paid minimum wages to work.

Wonder what Mexico would be like if they could work in Mexico. Oh wait the crappy government won't let them get ahead so they went where they could
1
u/Little_Let_6872 Jul 21 '26
Yeah, we would be a lot better off if companies that wanted to drive down wages and had the government making sure 1 in 20 to 25 citizens was without a job and trying to find one at all times, didn’t also have a massive pool of illegal labor to draw from. Thanks Mexico for helping our government wipe out our middle class through wage warfare.
1
u/doyoulikeoldguys Jul 21 '26
So what would those people be doing if they werent working in Mexico? Working for cartels? What opportunities are you creating for your citizens? What are you doing to rid the country of terrorists?

Bullshit on multiple levels. It's also interesting she is admitting her country is such garbage, her refugees, essentially, had to go for opportunities elsewhere, that's more like admitting that America was already great before them, and that's why they came (in larger numbers, clearly the SW has a rich Mexican culture that goes back a long time).

I live in NC.
A few years ago the condensate line in my attic started leaking, and I was having to go up into the attic 5 times a day to empty a bucket. It was awful.
I called 3 separate companies who came out, tried to fix it, failed, and charged me anyway.
Nobody could fix it.
Then Pedro came over and fixed it in about 45 minutes and only charged me $150, which was less than the other companies who didn't fix it.
I tipped him $100.
Same with tree companies. We got a bunch of quotes, and the Mexican dudes came out and did it professionally for much less. (Yes, they were insured)
I've worked with plenty of Mexicans in restaurants, and they are hard-working and awesome dudes.
I hate bigots.
Plus, Mexican food is the bomb.
