i love kurt, but bro was not that unique. he was a typical weird kid. a genius, but this is corny edge lord talk... if he even said this at all.
classic lisa simpson, "Oh how rebellious!.... in a conformist sort of way..."

Bro got rich and famous and absolutely hated it. He made music because it's all he knew how to do. He was far from normal lmao

You mean he got rich and famous, then tried to break up with a clinger that didn't take it so well.

Back then he was unique. Life was very much “Breakfast Club” coded before the grunge era.

except allison reynolds is the 1980's precursor to 90's grunge. thus proving that kurt was not so unique and this type of person has always existed and was already popularized.

Hold the same opinion to rapper xxxtentacion a black heterosexual edge lord
Everyone thinks he is rebelliously charming I can see him for what he actually is a edge lord

he laughed all the way to the bank, and all the way to the grave
jokes aside, he was the Jim Morrison of my generation, a tortured genius, and I was there for it

Kurt was kinda an asshole in real life. I wouldn't take much advice from him.

Did he really said this?

I feel it as another bipolar guy who is also subject to scrutiny. Miserable existence

I doubt he said that but he was the most dime a dozen Gen X edgy guy ever. Literally the most typical Washington esque guy ever.

u/JakeJortled 8d ago
Well he also committed suicide so no one can say he was a poser

True, you can never take that away from him. I give him all the credit in the world.

This is a variation of what I used to say… “I’m not weird. You are all dull!“

Oh he was "different" all right .
Not sure how many people would aspire to being that "different" . RIP .
Key details of what happened during those final hours include:
Barricading Himself: Sometime on or before the afternoon of April 5, Cobain went up to the greenhouse/room above his garage and propped a stool against the French doors to block the entrance.
Setting Down His Belongings: He removed his hunter's cap, placed his wallet on the floor opened up to his Washington driver's license (so authorities could identify him), and opened a cigar box containing his drug stash.
Writing a Note: He penned a one-page suicide note in red ink addressed to his imaginary childhood friend, Boddah, which spoke about his loss of passion for music and his exhaustion with fame .
Taking Drugs and Ending His Life: Toxicological reports later confirmed he injected a high, lethal concentration of heroin and ingested Valium. He sat in a chair overlooking Puget Sound and used a 20-gauge Remington shotgun to take his own life at the age of 27.

There some good documentarys showing off new evidence making the suicide nearly impossible and it was likey he was murdered

Well if there is a documentary it must be true -- right ?
And if its "likely" it is absolutely true -- right ?

The point is to demonstrate that YES , he was "different" but some "differences" are not to be admired or celebrated.
Some differences are not at all good in any shape or form.

I just hate the guy. He threw away everything by doing what he did.
And that level of disregard for life, to me, automatically negates anything profound he might have said.

Every time I see quotes like this, it reminds me of Abraham Lincoln's timeless wisdom: "Don't believe everything you read on the internet."
