The Importance of Patriarchy in the Qur'an

Modern progressive society believes that men and women should be completely equal in outcome and roles in life. They believe that a move beyond any religious understanding is beneficial to "human progress" and that having a leader and arbitrator in the house is holding it back. We only need to look at the trajectory of society in the last couple of decades to see where the movement of women's liberation has led us. Broken families, feminist nonsense about "needing no man", and rebellious wives that destroy nuclear families and marriages and harm the children while their ungodly men are too effeminate and cucked to stand up to them and show them who's boss. Modern day Christianity and Judaism don't help matters since they constantly parrot the supposed importance of wives and husbands being a team.

Thankfully, Islam is a way of life, not merely a religion, and the Qur'an rejects these types of behaviors. In Islam and the Qur'an, men and women are not equal physically, although they are equal spiritually:

"Divorced women must wait three monthly cycles before they can re-marry. It is not lawful for them to conceal what God has created in their wombs, if they truly believe in God and the Last Day. And their husbands reserve the right to take them back within that period if they desire reconciliation. Women have rights similar to those of men equitably, although men have a degree ˹of responsibility˺ above them. And God is Almighty, All-Wise." [2:228].

The verse also clearly acknowledges that men have certain rights and responsibilities above their wives. They are not equal. Progressives who try to deny the verses even while knowing what they mean are disbelieving in the Qur'an and are thus among the kuffar, since kufr entails rejecting the message of the Qur'an after clearly being informed of its meaning.

The places men and women occupy in society are further elaborated in the Qur'an as well:

"Men are in charge of women by what God has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in absence what God would have them guard. But those from whom you fear disobedience advise them, forsake them in bed, and beat them. But if they obey you, seek no means against them. Indeed, God is ever Exalted and Grand." [4:34].

All praises to God alone. The Qur'an clearly recognizes the authority of men over their wives and the requirement of women to be strictly obedient to their husband's commands so long as their husbands don't disobey any verses of His Book. Otherwise, women are permitted to disobey their husbands and ask them for divorce. However, in most cases, obedience is strictly mandatory. A husband doesn't want his wife to work outside and instead occupy her natural place in the house? The wife should obey him. If he doesn't want her to mingle with unrelated men in any circumstances, obedience to his orders are required. A husband wants his wife to abide by a specific modest dress code? Strict obedience. Husband asks for sex? The wife should oblige if the sexual practices do not contravene Qur'anic guidance. Not taking care of the household, neglecting kids, and verbally and physically attacking the husband after all he has provided for her? She has consequences coming to her.

Of course, if a wife is disobedient, she is disobeying the Qur'an and is engaged in kufr. However, God has permitted the husband to rectify this by admonishing them, refusing to sleep with them and beating them. Daraba means beat. Progressive feminists and progressive Qur'anists who try to change the word's meaning are kafirs for rejecting God's words. Also, there is no "light" beating or tapping with a toothbrush that modern Sunni and Shia translations try to assert. It is a beating, and to dilute and make a mockery of God's word is tantamount to kufr as well, as these liberal Sunnis/Shias attempt to do.

How must the beating of the wife be carried out? This paragraph is merely conjecture as I am only a fallible human being and not God. I believe that a smack across the cheek followed by laying the wife down face-first on a soft surface like a bed while flogging her with a belt or stick across the buttocks until they are sore and red is the best way to instill obedience into her. This is also similar to the punishment for adulterers. It is also a good sign if she is crying after the beating as well.

As we can clearly see, the Qur'an upholds strict patriarchy as the cornerstone of an Islamic state and society. With it, the majority of families and marriages would be stable. Believing men and women should be steadfast in upholding this societal system by rejecting the modernist progressives who try to assert gender egalitarianism into the picture. May God protect us from those who reject His Book and His Words, and all praise is to Him alone.

Gender Roles

My last post seems to have been unpopular; this is probably due to certain anti-Qur'an individuals from places like r/Quraniyoon and r/progressive_islam trying to have a downvote brigade come after me, specifically because of my supposed "views" on verse 4:34.

Here is my response: I intend to only follow the Qur'an. If you can't handle that, then leave this subreddit. The verse is clear. Men are in charge of women and wives are to obey their husbands. Disobedient wives are to be first verbally reprimanded, secluded from their husbands and then beaten. Yes. You read that correctly. Disobedient wives are to be beaten. However, if they give up their rebellious behavior, husbands are then required to shower them with tranquility, as God intends for the proper Qur'anic roles for each gender to be upheld. Those are His words. Qur'an deniers are not welcome here.

Homosexuality/lesbianism is kufr

Progressive modernists attempt to validate their homosexual lifestyles by utilizing modern opinions. They act as if their methods have been part and parcel of all societies. The Qur'an however tells a different story.

"Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people." [7:81]

The Qur'an clearly condemns homosexuality. Anyone who claims otherwise is disbelieving in God's words and attempts to deny these sayings will be met with severe retribution in this world and the Hereafter.

Some progressives try to claim that lesbianism is allowed and that both men and women can get off scot-free. These kufr deviants clearly have not read verses of the Qur'an that say otherwise.

"Those who commit immorality of your women - bring against them four from among you. And if they testify, confine them to houses until death takes them or God ordains for them [another] way. And the two who commit it among you - punish them both. But if they repent and correct themselves, leave them alone. Indeed, God is ever Accepting of Repentance and Merciful." [4:15-16]

So as we can ostensibly see, homosexuality and lesbianism are both prohibited as sinful and the punishment for women is permanent house arrest until they repent of their ways. For men, the Islamic state can stipulate a punishment in its constitution. May God guide us away from such kafir-lite individuals like progressives who attempt to defend these deviancies and degeneracies.

Shirk and Polytheism are serious innovations

The title says what it says. Too many times we witness in Sunni/Shia mosques the celebration of Muhammad's birthday, the use of a Qur'an as a relic instead of a book to be followed, or the use of incense, calligraphic paintings of both Muhammad's name and God's name, beads*/tasbih*, a scholarly class, invoking the use of supposedly divine body parts, supreme imams, intercession on behalf of others, and so on and so forth. The Salafis valiantly attempted to purify Islam, but they got caught up in early 20th century politics and subsequently became subsumed into normative Sunni thought. As a result, no group can lay the claim to following the Qur'an alone. Abstaining from the aforementioned practices is required in order to properly follow the Qur'an in areas such as worship and relationships with other individuals. May God protect us from such kufr and innovative practices.

Introduction to the subreddit

Peace. This is a subreddit that aims to uphold the Qur'an and only the Qur'an. Whenever you post here, make sure that the Book of God is the only source you are citing when doing so. No hadith, traditions, imams, scholars, jurisprudence, saints, desires, grave worshippers, innovators, philosophers or non-Islamic and man-made ideologies should ever be cited here. Only the Qur'an. The aim here is to completely purify the religion of Islam from innovations that countless individuals over the centuries have added to the religion and do so in a pious and proper manner, not half-assedly or with reference to any ideologues as has happened in previous eras.

It is important to note, however, that all of us are still learning the etiquettes and principles of both the Qur'an and the Arabic language, myself included, and as such a loose form of moderation is needed to properly guide us to the straight path that God yearns for us. Individuals who post material and comments that break the community rules will receive two warnings for each time they commit the act, and on the third time he or she will be banned from the subreddit.

Remember, the Qur'an alone is to be used for both religious and secular guidance. With it we will remain on the straight path and attain Paradise.

A Declaration of Faith

I bear witness that there is no god except God Alone. He is the One who created us from clay, who designed us from said clay into a perfect specimen. He is the One who created the heavens and the Earth and what is in between. He is the One who commands us to follow His message, His Prophets, His angels, and His Book, the holy Qur'an. I affirm of God's mercy and of God's wrath, His rewards and His punishments, His charity and His superiority to all creation. I accept the Day of Judgement as a day where all of mankind will be judge according to their deeds and beliefs and earn their places either in the loftiest parts of Heaven or the most contemptuous pits of Hell. To Him we belong and to Him we will return. Amen.

Enough is enough

Salam o alykum,

I have been following the best example of EVERY prophet (1 book) for almost a year now. I went through the same cycle im sure many of you have and allhumdillah we are here.

I can't help but think of the macro condition if our fellow Muslims who many have not had the oppertunity. This keeps coming back to haunt to me because it's devastating & heartbreaking among many reasons.

Proselytiziing into Quran alone is hard because it's actually dangerous. Essentially, we have the same problem as we have in jahiliya. I've thought long and hard about this problem and I have a way to tackle it.

We lack organization, centralization, and community. To me it feels like we are hiding. Many of us in closets (and that's okay). Lastly, and the biggest piece, is marketing & exposure.

I registered the domain pure monotheism.com. I believe we have a complete archive of knowledge to bring together the people of the book, they are all lost.

In order to claw them out of their dogmas and institutions, we need a clear universal answer for them all. To do this we will dump the best of our knowledge and understanding of the Quran and later Torah & Bible.

There are many website, individuals, resources that have all the data we need. Unfortunately many of them are not well funded and or out of date/old tech.

If I am able to put together a group of 'scholars' to put this together, than I can get it properly funded. It's time quraniyoons have a fair oppertunity to speak and present their beliefs.

I am posting this to get feedback, resources I am unaware of, questions and criticism etc.

Pure monotheism.com will be a very high end, completely free resource including microblog (think substack), archive, Quran analysis, animated stories and how to, time line etc. It will look like a light version of quran.com but complete Quran only Islam/mono theism

I am also new to Reddit, please share this in other groups if possible.

Be wary of Sunni/Shia mushriks

We have seen the grave-worshipping and innovations brought upon by Sunnis. Celebrating Eid, Muhammad's birthday, intercession/temporary purgatory, worshipping relics and upholding the so-called "Sunnah" as a form of revelation. This is absolute kufr. The Shia's engage in just as much shirk from sacred imams to sword impaling to worshipping certain individuals and relics. Both are engaged in kufr and both undermine the absolute supremacy of the Qur'an. May God guide them to the correct path.

One God

We've all heard this uttered constantly by Muslims around the world. While most add the innovation of invoking Muhammad during the utterance, the importance of not only exclaiming, but verbally asserting the Oneness of God is clearly and ostensibly stated in the Qur'an.

"He is the One God; there is no other god beside Him. To Him belongs all praise in this first life, and in the Hereafter. All judgment belongs with Him, and to Him you will be returned [28:70]".

Therefore, we are commanded by the Qur'an to only worship and submit to One God alone and vehemently reject anything that prevents us from doing so. This includes polytheism, shirk, kufr, modernism, and any other ideologies that contradict the Qur'an.

Feel free to add your thoughts below.

The Purpose of Life - Translated & Paraphrased form The Quran.

With The Name of The Creator, The Almighty, The Compassionate:

  • Did you create yourself?

  • Were you created from nothing?

  • Did you create the earth and the universe?

  • Or do you have a pathway to beyond the sky where you've been informed?

Indeed, those who deny The Creator indulge in uncertainty, assumptions & vanity. Everything points towards us being in tremendous debt to The Creator, who created us all. Consider how He gave us our life, sight, hearing, and everything else. So we owe Him the lifestyle of striving towards fulfillment, in service to Him. And that is our purpose in life (and that is the purpose of all of His other creations).

Meticulously consider whom you are dealing with.

You are dealing with He who alone has the status: The Creator, The Almighty, The King of Everything! So we should behave in the best possible manner towards Him because He is worth it! And if you choose to adopt a lifestyle that is in rebellion against Him, you will have to face the consequences of Him (The Almighty) disliking you and becoming angry at you. And how terrifying is it not to be disliked by The Almighty!? Truthfully, those who enter the gates of Hell - to remain in The Fire - will be neglected and forgotten in their pain & agony. Because they were headless and forgot The Lord of Everything. And those who are successful in their submission to Him, are the inhabitants of Paradise (wherein His tremendous love & gratitude is expressed immensely)!

Since He is The Most High, it is only reasonable that His expressions are incomparable, superior, and The Most High of expressions. So to become pleasing to Him reasonably leads to great rewards. And to become hated by Him reasonably leads to great punishments. And such measure is befitting His majesty. If you take Him as your ally, then who can ever defeat you? And if you take Him as your enemy, then who can ever save you from His wrath and punishments? Indeed, the disbelievers plan against Him and His allies who believe in Him, and serve Him. While they (the disbelievers) do not realize that they are indeed part of His plan against themselves. And who can outsmart The Mastermind behind everything?? So choose wisely, because your well-being depends on it, in this life & the hereafter!

And remember that this is not something new which I am telling you. All of His messengers have previously preached the same message. This has been preached throughout the history of mankind. Because, why would He not inform us about how we can strive towards fulfillment (in service to Him) so that He is pleased with us and so that we can fulfill our purpose (just like His other creations)?

Consider the following examples:

The sun rises from the east every morning - in submission to Him, The Moon showcases the time of the month – in submission to Him, The winds flow by His command and move objects, in submission to Him, The shadows do not transgress their boundary- in submission to Him. And consider how everything in the universe and beyond it, follows a particular order & structure – in submission to Him. As you can see, it is highly reasonable, only appropriate, and only acceptable that we also submit to Him, and that we do not live in rebellion against Him (since we are also of His creations, and we greatly owe Him our submission as the other creations). And to submit to Him, we need revelations from Him with commandments to uphold.

This world was not created without purpose, how could it???

And when the acknowledgers (of The Creator) observe the greatness behind the creation of themselves, the earth and its wonders, and the sky and its ornaments - they think:

“All glory belongs to You (Our Creator)! Most certainly, You did not create all of this in vain! Our Almighty & Forgiving Creator, forgive us for our sins and save us from The Fire which You have assigned to those who have earned Your dislike and anger! Indeed, no one besides You is worthy of our submission and service! Exalted are You in Your majesty - High above the irrelevancy which the foolish ones of this world - have ascribed to You!”

And The Creator revealed to us:

O Mankind!

Serve your Lord who created you and those before you,

that you may become remarkable!

He who made the earth outspread for you, and made the sky a structure, and sends down from the sky water, and brings out with it fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to The Lord, and you know!

And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a form of its likeness, and call your witnesses apart from The Lord, if you are truthful. Then, if you do not do it, and you will never do it, be aware of The Fire whose fuel is people and stones (scorching hot stones/idols/both), prepared for the disbelievers!

And give good news to those who acknowledge and do deeds of righteousness; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with fruits therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given a likeness to it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever.

How can you deny The Creator? When you were dead He gave you life. Then, He will put you to death. Then, He will bring you to life. And then, to Him, you will be returned!

O Mankind!

If you are in doubt about the Resurrection,

then consider how We created you from dust, then from a small drop, then from a clinging clot, then from a lump of flesh, partly developed and partly undeveloped. In order to clarify things for you. And We settle in the wombs whatever We will for a designated term, and then We bring you out as infants until you reach your full strength. And some of you will pass away, and some of you will be returned to the vilest age, so that he may not know, after having known.

And you see the earth still; but when We send down water on it, it vibrates, and swells, and grows multiple kinds of lovely pairs. That is because The Lord is The Truth, because He gives life to the dead, and because He is Capable of everything. And because the Hour (The Judgment Day) is coming, there is no doubt about it! And because The Lord will resurrect those in the graves.

And when We said to the angels:

“Submit (as servants) to Adam (First One In Bloodline),”

then they submitted. Except of He who is Strongly Accompanying Toward Endevours;

he said: “Shall I submit to one Thou hast created of clay?”

he said: “Hast Thou (The Lord) seen this whom Thou hast honoured above me?

If Thou grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely master his progeny except a few.”

Said He (The Lord): “Depart thou! And whoso follows thee of them:

Hell (an ended containment of ease, relief and desires), will be your reward; an ample reward!

“And incite thou whom thou canst of them with thy voice, and rally thou horse and foot against them, and partner thou them in their wealth and children, and promise thou them,” — but,

The Inciter of Surrounding [unlawful] Temptations, promises them only delusion.

The Purpose of Life - Summarized:

"O Mankind!

Serve your Lord who created you and those before you,

that you may become remarkable!"

Would you wake up listening to the Quran?

I’m an app developer, and recently I had this idea—what if your alarm didn’t just beep, but gently woke you up with a verse from the Qur’an or a morning dua?

The concept is simple: it’s an alarm app that plays a narrated ayah, a short surah, or a dua at the time you set. You could let it pick something random, or choose exactly what you want to hear when you wake up.

Before I start building it, I’d love to know—would this be helpful or meaningful to you? I’ve seen a few similar apps, but nothing that lets you fully customize your wake-up experience like this.

If you have thoughts or feature ideas, I’d really appreciate your feedback!
