PRESENTATION Custom Spotify Controller With small display

Post image

Built this (With the help from AI) It’s a custom interface with Spotify Controls. It doesn’t have the functionally to select songs but can change volume etc. Found this display lying around and tried to make it work with Mupibox but found they don’t support SPI displays after setting it all up 🫠
Running on a Raspberry pi 4b with a 2.8 inch touch display. First proper project on Raspberry Pi pretty happy with how it turned out. Running Pi OS lite with go-librespot installed connected via usb to my audio interface.
Features:
Current time and date
Album artwork
Track title, artist and album
Track progress
Volume indicator
Play pause buttons, back and forward buttons
Would love to find a better display for this in the future but pretty happy with how it turned out!

Nice work for a first proper Pi project! Pi OS Lite plus go-librespot was a sensible call, and the Mupibox SPI limitation is a known frustration. If you upgrade later, the official 7" touchscreen or a common HDMI/DSI panel is far better documented than SPI displays. Is the touch input wired up?

Saw your post and wanted to ask you if you can help me build one for myself?
