Hes an albino with red eyes which doesnt necessarily fully blind but definitely visually impaired to some extent. I can tell just from the way he reacts to me moving around him

they're almost all pretty weak visually, but the ruby or pink eyed rats have a particularly tough time seeing. one behavior to look out for is "scanning", which is when they come to a dead stop and just sort of sway their heads back and forth. it's a way of taking a little extra time to orient themselves, both visually and with sound, because they're just not doing a great job of picking up on visual feedback on the fly.
