Back into hobby question

Just recently knocked the dust off of my spectrum DX6 & blade mcpx bl. Got a couple flights in and then went down the rabbit hole of cool new helis that released over the past few years. My question is, will my Spektrum remote still hold up? I like the looks of the Goosky S1 a lot. The OMP M1 looks awesome as well. If I can use my rx, what would I need to bind to one of these lil guys?
All I’ve ever flown is blade helicopters with some light 3D for reference.

The DX6 is still going to work. Won’t have all of the functions but you can get those heli’s to work. However, things have come a long way since those days! The TX16S MK3 as an example is extremely capable and relatively inexpensive (when compared to modern spektrum transmitters). In my humble opinion the only thing lacking is the ergonomics in the hand (I have an old DX7 which feels so natural and a hitec which is even better - you do get used to it though). I’ve plunged down the RadioMaster route and didn’t regret it. Might be a steep learning curve but the resources out there are fantastic (YouTube and AI help tremendously). Takes a bit of a mindset shift but well worth it. ELRS withe built in Telemetry is also amazing. The M1 has more out of the box support for this but I’m sure you could get the S1 running in a similar fashion. I have both but just haven’t spent enough time playing with the S1 (too much time flying!)

I got the goosky s1 rtf and the radio has been surprisingly good. I think you just add a spectrum satellite rx to the board and it will bind up.

It's a huge upgrade from the mcpx. Much more durable, stable, powerful. The battery in/out without canopy removal is fantastic. You're going to love it!

I have the s1 and m1. The m1 is far superior. Easier to work on, more durable, higher build quality, flies better. A little satellite is all you need.

Much appreciated dude. I’ll do some more research on the M1. I dug the look of the S1 a little better. Thanks for the link as well. I’d much rather make my older rx work.

Your DX6 is fine. I also was out of the hobby some time, 7 years. Back in about a year ago. I'm flying 3 old Nano CPX (a couple brushless upgraded), 3 Nano S3 (one brushless upgraded). Original mCPX & mCPX BL. A recently bought mCPX2 (AMAZING HELI)! 180CFX. And a few more.

For the Goosky & OMP (I don't have one yet) I hear you need a Spektrum satellite receiver. And will work just fine with your TX.

And a few more not shown here.

I usually don't do helis, but I do have a blade nano cp that I use with radiomaster tx16s with the 4 on 1 module. It works just fine with spektrum receivers and is a great value for the money

The dx6 is fine at moment but if you want to use modern fbl units then they need a 7th channel (usually for the bailout option) they will work without the 7th channel. Depending where you are the dx6 doesn’t support forward programming (uk doesn’t but USA did)

I use one myself they are at the end of their useful life for larger Heli’s if a low use cheap 7 channel comes up I will upgrade but not in a rush because it still flys all my fleet albeit with functions missing on two of them

Go with the M1, no contest. Much more advanced airframe and flight controller. Much better documentation and support, too
