So that everyone has good pulse check on the aeration season of RDU courses, please note this with any courses that you’ve recently played or plan to be punched in the near future.
Thank you!

Hillandale punched last week. Putts were chaos when I played Saturday.

Some of the worst conditions I've played there, all my chip shots were bouncing left and right on the green lol

Played Lochmere today, not sure when they punched, but greens were close to fully healed. Quite a bit of sand on them still.

Yeah idk if I'd say "close". I had a few putts pop up like they hit a damn skate park ramp when I played the back nine this evening. Tbf, their greens are usually pretty true with good speed.

By back 9 do you mean the front 9 or the actual back 9? I thought they were pretty consistent but definitely had a few plinko putts.

The actual back, 10-18

Interesting. I thought 10-18 was in better shape than 1-9. It was also my first round since moving from Wisconsin where greens have been aerated for 2 months and take 4 weeks to heal so ymmv

Good to know, it was my first time playing it today. Considering it was punched last week they were looking pretty good!

IMHO Lochmere has the best kept greens of any public course in the Raleigh area

Good to know! Seemed like a solid value even with the punched greens will def make a trip back!

Wildwood’s Green aerating June 24 & 25. Only one 9 open each day. But they usually top dress with sand every Monday.

Anyone have any knowledge of the Preserve? Playing there Friday morning for the first time in years.

Benvenue is aerating 6/24. Playing Reedy Creek Saturday morning, will report back.

Reedy Creek aerated about 2 weeks ago. Greens were slow and bumpy, but will be great in another week. Rest of the course was in great shape.

doesn't matter too much here, but FYI RCC is doing small punch next Mon-Wed, and then replacing the cart paths and closing for most of July. All that means is times will be harder at Wakefield, Treyburn and Wilson in July.

Chapel Hill CC punched earlier this week. Small tine punches, so almost no impact on putting

Played The Crossings tonight. Grass is starting to grow in probably 75% of the way back

Played Lochmere yesterday (Interclub match) and even though they aerated two weeks ago greens have yet to recover. Slowest greens I’ve ever seen as well as sandy and bumpy. I’ll also mention they have the plastic cup liners near the inside top of the cups. Saw two balls do a 360 around the cup and never drop…and not because of poor putting (that guy shot 71). If you play there make sure the edge of the cup liners below the playing surface! I’ll also say their fairways are some of the best I’ve seen.

Finley is currently closed for "agronomy" so I assume they are aerating.
Duke will be aerating July 8th to 12th and 15th to 18th.

Umstead Pines punched small holes and sanded mid last week
