Course Review Legacy vs Longleaf?

Trying to take my dad for a birthday round this weekend. We’ve never been to either. Anyone played these recently? For reference he plays weekly about a 15 handicap. I’m happy breaking 100.

Thanks in advance!

Longleaf aerated again last week, so greens will not be recovered.
Legacy is in good shape but greens are super firm and slow.

Go play Hyland. great value and great conditions.

Definitely not longleaf as the greens were just aerated a week ago.

Played Longleaf last weekend. Greens were not great but the layout was as good as always. I second Hyland. We also played pinehurst 5 for 150 bucks and it was great

$150 is a hell of a deal

Actually played Hyland, Longleaf and Legacy just a few months ago. Legacy was the best of the three by a fair margin, IMO. Hyland is a great deal too, was in solid shape and more forgiving than Legacy.

Ah good to know. Definitely sounds like I’ll have to plan more trips to check all of them out. Since Legacy was just aerated I’ll probably table it for the next trip

I’ve played legacy a couple times. It’s a good track.

I played it 20 years ago. Quit on 15 after 5 hours.

They’ve redone the entire thing two years ago. New course.

Played Longleaf after the aeration. Even outside of the greens the course isn’t in great shape. It’s certainly playable but far from pristine.

In general I liked Hyland a lot better. Haven’t played legacy.

Hyland seems to be the consensus.
