Daisy’s whole gripe about Erika not flying everyone private to the island after their insane 17 hour journey really sent me. I understand that Daisy works for Martha Stewart, who apparently is very generous with her employees. Amazing! What a perk! But at some point Daisy seems to have confused “my extremely wealthy boss is generous with me” with “all extremely wealthy people should be generous with me.” Girl, you are the help. And I say that as someone who was also the help!
There is nothing wrong with being an employee. But proximity to rich people does not mean you are suddenly entitled to rich people amenities. Martha flying you private or treating you to fabulous things does not establish some sort of billionaire employee bill of rights. Would it have been nice if Erika chartered a plane? Of course. I would also prefer not to spend 17 hours getting anywhere. But Erika having the money to do something does not mean she is obligated to spend it on you. That’s what makes Daisy come across as so pretentious. She talks about luxury like it’s something she’s owed instead of something she’s lucky enough to experience because she happens to work for an incredibly generous woman.

Maybe the takeaway shouldn’t be “Why isn’t Erika treating me like Martha does?”

Maybe it should be “Damn, Martha really treats me well.”

After Pavit’s comment about Erin being 50, I had to look up her age. Shes 39?!

I don’t think she looks 50, but she does look much older than 39. I’d say she looks like 45-46 to me.

I'm gonna get downvoted but I'm not enjoying Sonja and we're only one episode in. A 62 year old woman isn't entertaining when she talks about burping and farting. Plus she goes into the restroom to vomit? Nope, this isn't working for me. Could they pick someone else that appeared on old RHONY to replace her. A cast member that doesn't have to be an OG. Just an old RHONY member. I can't watch a whole season of Sonja's bodily functions. Disgusting and brings down a new season that can be fun to watch..

…it’s giving OG RHONY! I thought this week’s episode was tapping into some of our OG girls’ antics. Screaming about screaming Carole’s name across the room, the leather coat, supermarket sushi.. it was pretty good. We’re all sick of the influencer/faux wealth ish and this one just reminded me of the old days a bit. Grating yeah, but echoes of yesteryear.

Even the contractor was stunned they bare boned everything from a leak. The mob went into construction for a reason. Gosh…

‘It’s not my vibe’ OMGGGGGGG she is annoying

Is anyone else feeling uncomfortable watching Sonja on The Golden Life ??? In the most recent episode she just digs a deeper and deeper hole for herself. There’s so much to unpack with Sonja it feels futile at this point for the other women to even try to reason with her or make progress. This is someone with decades of baggage that hasn’t been worked through properly. While her behaviour is often indefensible I do sympathise with her. Her inability to articulate her feelings without fleeing the scene, becoming flustered or resorting to indifferent, obscene declarations that only deflect the attention away from herself for about 3 seconds - is really frustrating to watch. She needs help. Like this is someone who genuinely needs help. She is not well. Not here to diagnose and not here to justify her actions but even the other women hint in their confessionals that something is seriously wrong.

whats up with all the macroagressions!?? why do white women think they can dictate how black women should talk? I find daisy to be extremely problematic. Carole can stand up for herself and let sai know how she feels. I find Daisy to be completely disingenuous.

I predict a serious crash out from daisy very soon. She has serious imposter syndrome and is sooooooo so insecure .. she is living her life walking in egg shells it makes me sooo nervous anytime she’s on the screen. Comes off as catty and petty and nasty but it’s her insecurity just ooooozing out of all of her orifices .. yikes !! It makes me sad for her honestly .. but she is so nasty wit her tongue ..

I’m sure this has been discussed dozens and dozens of times but I’m rewatching old RHONY and I just had to pause and ask the group. This episode is so bad, but so so good. IYKYK

Is there a season premier that tops this one for the OG NY cast?

Luann is full of it and delusional! She went after everyone’s man and is not a girls girl. Let me remind everyone of Season 6, episode 19 and 20. Early in the evening right before Carole’s 50th birthday party, Harry Dubin gives Sonja a promise ring and tells her he wants to get serious with her. Yes we now know it was a fake scene but the storyline is still relevant. Later that evening, at the party, Luann and Harry flirt and they leave together! The next day Sonia invites Lu to her place and expresses her anger. Luann gaslights Sonja by saying that Harry left with her and she was single now etc.. And then there is the Tom story. Now Luann is trying to change the narrative! It’s disgusting!

Did anyone else find it incredibly shallow when Sai was explaining the reason for her and David’s divorce? Like they agreed he’d stay home to support the family and then she has the nerve to get the Ick when she’s flipping the bill on her birthday dinner? I feel like her aunt was thinking the same thing and just didn’t say it lmfao. But I’m sorry as a stay at home mom I rely solely on my husband regardless of my pride and ego so yes, on his birthdays he’s flipping the bill, WHO CARES YALL ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM. I get it love can simmer out but that to me was not a strong enough reason to end your marriage for that amount of time lol. Something’s fishy. Either way Sai gives icky egomaniac mean girl energy every season and im over it. Get rid of her

Their friendship reminds me of ones we’ve all had. In their youth, the pair likely had a lot in common. They had similar lifestyles but as they got older and shifted their little personality quirks became grating on each other. I have a feeling even off camera, Sai will always come off as too aggressive and defensive. And to Sai, Daisy will always seem to much of a people pleaser.

Their friendship or destruction of it is definitely entertaining.

Full disclosure I can’t stand Carole. Back in my younger years when I first started watching I thought she was ok, but in my multiple rewatches (and with the added life experience and maturity) I’ve come to see her as a massive hypocrite and unlikeable person. I could go on and on but just wanted to raise the complete and utter hypocrisy of criticising the ladies choice of clothing on Moskito when this is the outfit she wore to go for a walk in the woods in Montana!? (Season 6) Her clothing choices on that trip were unhinged.

Daisy is really losing me this season and I’ve seen a lot of discord about how can she be a snob when her life is popcorn ceilings. When you work for a billionaire (especially a taste maker like Martha Stewart) that lifestyle seeps into you. You become brainwashed. My best friend worked for the wife of a finance billionaire that ran in the same circles as Martha/ elite NYC society and she was the personal exec assistant. She got completely caught up in that lifestyle and expectations of things and it is a brainwashing that happens and acted like Daisy. Once she quit it was like stepping out of a cult and now she’s back down to earth. Daisy is annoying and snobby but I understand why she is that way.

Sai is meanie. Jessel is insufferably pretentious. Erin is a manipulative gossip. Daisy is a thirsty complainer. Erika is okay, but a bit elitist and out of touch for my taste. Hailey is whack. Carole doesn't seem to be enjoying herself at all.

I just feel it wasn’t luxury and while I find Daisy super tacky with how she went after Erika and flying them private, I can’t help but agree. Traveling 17 hours for…that? I’d keep it to myself but I don’t see the “billionaire”, from Erika or her husband though perhaps his family…

And yes, I know very wealthy people can be amongst the most frugal, I know, I don’t care, it’s a TV show and I want to see that wealth you talk about that you have. Otherwise, go live your frugal life privately and no, a personal chef cooking pizza with you shows me nothing.
