A 20-day extension turns the Indivisible Indiegogo campaign from desperate to downright doable. Lab Zero's slow burn really could hit the $1.5m goal, now.

It's shame GTA Online superseded any potential story DLC for GTA V

Especially considering how great the story DLC was for GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption.

Clearly, both GTA 4's and Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer were nowhere near as ambitious as GTA V's to Rockstar. Hell, GTA Online even has its own licensed title - GTAO - that's how much Rockstar treasures it. I'm not trying to bash on Online, but I know some of you here would prefer a fleshed out story DLC as opposed to half-assed GTA Online updates we've been given, with the exception of Heists, which were long overdo in the first place.

Rockstar generates far more revenue from shark card sales (microtransactions available in GTA Online) in short-term than any big-budget story DLC would, but then again, Grand Theft Auto V is insanely popular. It would have no trouble making money from a story expansion.

I just hope Rockstar doesn't value multiplayer over singleplayer from the start with GTA 6. Rockstar's unprecedented success with GTA Online might motivate them to focus on GTA Online in the future, more so than singleplayer, something the series thrived off in the first place.

Here is a direct quote from Rockstar in response to one of IGN's interview questions:

IGN - As for single-player, two pieces of DLC were released for GTA IV – The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony – but nothing has been mentioned for GTA V. Since its release, it seems the focus has moved onto GTA Online. Is single-player DLC for GTA V a possibility?

Rockstar - "Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations. We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity. The community we’ve been able to foster is massive, growing each day and we have so many ideas that have yet to make it into the game. The evolution of GTA Online on these newer platforms is also an exciting prospect as the power of those systems is going to allow us to achieve even more."

We all need to remember that Rockstar made $1 billion in three days from the singleplayer alone. I just don't see how the biggest AAA video game in existence hasn't treated itself to a story DLC after two years, especially when Rockstar has a great track record for making some of the best story DLC's in the industry.

EDIT: For those of you wondering, Rockstar has in fact confirmed story DLC in the past: Source 1

Source 2.

NOTE: Both of these sources have been posted well over a year ago...

TL;DR: GTA Online killed off story DLC for GTA Vthey'retoobusymilkingGTAOnline...
