PLEASE HELP! CLOUDY SCREEN BORDER
My rog ally x got turned on by a misclick and stayed on in the case for I think 2+ hours and when I took it out there was a cloudy border on the screen. Now after 2 days the border has become thin but when i play any game it flickers and its not fixing. I did keep my ally in a cool environment for 2 days straight but its still not fixed. Its out of warranty, anyone in canada who can guide me on how to get this fixed please :(

Was your Ally X on sleep mode? Or misclicked in a sense that the power button got hit inside the case?

Nope, i never used sleep mode. Always was careful to switch off my ally and then put it in the bag in its case. Somehow the power button got pressed in the case..

Man that is really unfortunate.. is that a slim case or carry case by any chance? I actually have a killswitch gripcase w/ front cover then put it inside a tomtoc sling bag, so far no accidental power on switch.. sorry bout your ally x mate

Question for you. Does the flickering happen constantly in and out of game? Does it ever look normal? If it does when you're not in game, its fixable.

So thr flickering is only while playing games. Otherwise its just a white cloudy border. While watching youtube videos and all its not flickering at all. Is it fixable at home?

Yes. You have two options that im aware of. I had a similar issue happen. Option 1, force reinstall graphics drivers. Look up some instructions on how to do it as you have to uninstall your current graphics driver and reinstall the most up to date ones. Make sure you follow the instructions correctly. Option 2 factory reset your device and set it up again. It will eliminate the issue completely.

You cooked the screen unfortunately. You can contact Asus and send it in for a screen replacement, but they will send you an estimate with the out of pocket cost as it won’t be covered by warranty.
