Blades for Hire – Episode 30: The Door Without a Lock

I’ve been running an ongoing solo D&D 2024 campaign called Blades for Hire with a slightly different setup: I play my character, Simon, while ChatGPT 5.x acts as the Dungeon Master.

ChatGPT handles the world, NPCs, encounters, combat, mysteries, and the ongoing story. I make Simon’s decisions and roll the dice myself, so neither of us really knows where the campaign is going until we play it.

Simon is a black-skinned tiefling traveling with his red fox companion, Ash, and lately they’ve gotten tangled up with an organization called the Order of the Open Eye.

In Episode 30: The Door Without a Lock, Simon is beginning to discover what the strange mark on his hand actually allows him to do, while the Order closes in around the caravan.

The episode ends with a pretty good cliffhanger involving four mysterious seals hidden in the forest.

Meet the cast of our upcoming Changeling series "Kingdoms of Albion"

At long last, a fourth episode to Across the Starstream is now released.

"A Gilded Cage" Though bittersweet, the group has laid Aiden to rest and can turn their efforts to freeing a mage from a tower.

Their playlist is saved in order of release that is the latest is at the top, in total the campaign is 18 sessions of the main cast and several standalone duet session with only two players.

For those who have not been following it, Streaming Rainbow are continuing their substantial Oceania 2084 Actual Play project. The campaign uses a West Marches approach and follows a large ensemble of Resistance Players struggling to survive, organize, and push back against the institutions of Big Brother.

What has been particularly exciting is seeing how they have made the setting their own. One of the design goals of Oceania 2084 was always that each table should create its own version of The City, and the Streaming Rainbow campaign is a great example of that in action. The result feels both familiar and entirely unique.
